I can never vote for Obama - the Reagan thing, etc. |
|
If it was just one slip up or misstatement, fine ... but, it's an ongoing thread - through books and statements. And, all the incitement of the race stuff with Hillary/her 'surrogates' - (aka allowing the media to blow something out of very little or nothing) cuz it served your campaign purposes - nasty.
I have a blended family and none of this crap serves us in any way, shape, or form.
The only candidate I can support, at this time, is John Edwards. He is the only one not playing anything to get something - so far.

ignorance is bliss. You can think that we will get anything done "fighting" (whatever that means)....but we won't.
I realized that Obama's analytical phylosophy was somewhat sophisticated....but I didn't think anyone here at DU wouldn't be able to understand it.
I was believing that most of us were liberal thinkers, but I guess not.
Meaning Number 5 below, I mean.
Main Entry: 1lib·er·al Pronunciation: \ˈli-b(ə-)rəl\ Function: adjective Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Latin liberalis suitable for a freeman, generous, from liber free; perhaps akin to Old English lēodan to grow, Greek eleutheros free Date: 14th century 1 a: of, relating to, or based on the liberal arts <liberal education> barchaic : of or befitting a man of free birth 2 a: marked by generosity : openhanded <a liberal giver> b: given or provided in a generous and openhanded way <a liberal meal> c: ample full 3obsolete : lacking moral restraint : licentious 4: not literal or strict : loose <a liberal translation> 5: broad-minded; especially : not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or traditional forms

5. Nice attempt trying to make average Americans feel small/stupid, but |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 02:47 AM by sjdnb
you just make yourself look like an arrogant, elitist.
Fact is, the comments in Obama's book and in recent interview related to Reagan have upset more than a few people (not all as stupid as you might hope they were) who thought he understood how those politics and policies had damaged the middle/lower classes (aka AVG AMERICANS). Not to mention the crimes committed (Iran-Contra, etc.) against the world.

in that you truly don't want to understand. because at the end of the day, the concept is not a difficult one to comprehend....unless one doesn't want to. Which is why you are the arrogant one. I doubt that you have really listened to Obama's interview unplugged, because if you had, by the end of it, you'd be looking for his website to give him a donation.
You simply have no clue, and it ain't really my problem. Like Lakoff said, its all about the framing and the approach. Success is not about not understanding what's going on around you, it is understanding it exactly, and making it work for you.
Good luck to you.
Peace.

Same old, same old. Yawn!
So, if I follow your logic, us Dems ought to just vote for the best manipulator -- Obama (in your opinion).

I'll vote for him in the general if he's the nominee...but I don't think it will happen.

12. This feels like when Howard Dean said he wanted to talk to |
|
guys who have the confederate flag on their trucks because their kids needed health care too.
Or when he said catching Saddam Hussein didn't make us safer.
People can't see the truth in the remarks because as soon as the name Reagan pops up, or the confederate flags pops up then certain people just explode and can't see straight any more.
