Speaker at Stock Show event apologizes for racist remark (in CO about Sen. Obama)
While we think the subtle, "between the lines" stuff that seems to be happening in the Democratic race is bad, when it comes from the other side, it's unabashedly "in your face".

What astounds me is he had no compunction about saying this until he got the backlash.

A Greeley businessman apologized Wednesday after a joke about Illinois Sen. Barack Obama fell flat during the National Western Stock Show's annual Citizen of the West banquet.

William R. Farr was pretending to read telegrams congratulating this year's award recipient, University of Colorado President Hank Brown, when he pulled out a piece of paper and said, "I have a telegram from the White House."

Then he added, "they're going to have to change the name of that building if Obama's elected." Witnesses said they could hear people gasp in the ballroom of the Adams Mark Hotel.

"I gasped," said Gov. Bill Ritter, who was sitting at the table with Farr.

4. It makes you wonder about the "good old boy" get together chats. I guess the speaker thought his
remark was right up Mr. Brown's alley, so to speak.

And, now he's all surprised and such, that his remark was considered, um, offensive.

Ron Paul sounds about right.

Although, as a bank president, he may heart Romney. MKJ
