It's really unfortunate....
The Mercer threads were much more sensible than the lunacy that pervades this place on a daily basis.

All we have is flame wars, and senseless ones at that. There is very little that's been written about Race, or Reagan that I believe really makes any difference at all to the election.

It's really unfortunate that Mercer got dissed. There was a bit of sanity here for a while.

Alas

1. Where does Mercer stand on Reagan?
I can't believe people have spent this week arguing over Ronald Reagan when we could have discussed health care, Iraq, energy policy or even how Jeb Bush is puttin disease in the house.

Perspective people!

Sometimes I wonder why so much is allowed to pass.

3. Let's limit criticism of Obama on Reagan. Let's enact rules for what can be said about him

9. I don't agree.
But yeah I am sick of all the race threads. They are ruining DU and the party.

8. I think the "so and so's a racist" or "so and so's a race baiter"
stuff was much, MUCH worse.

10. Nah, I LUV the Mercer threads...
Keep 'em flying! Where else can we hear about important issues such as:

MISSING PERSONS IN THE UNITED STATES ENFORCEMENT:

There is some concern about the Missing Persons in the United States enforcement. I will enforce Missing Persons missing enforcement regulating itself with its regulations pertaining to itself according to its enforcements to locate missing persons 100% and to stop kidnappings 100%.

11. I agree.
It's the primary reason I jumped on the Mercer bandwagon. I thought it was a nice (if far too brief) respite from the lunacy and outright hatred. I really do hate reading sections of these forums because of the rampant vitriol being spewed.

I also had an ignore list of over 30 people and it made this place completely different. Really, it's just a small handful who are causing all the trouble. They are just REALLY loud. The sad part is I removed them from ignore because people were responding to them and I couldn't understand half of what was being said.

Suggestion: When you have someone on ignore have it so it collapses their sub-threads too. It makes reading DU incoherent otherwise.
