Dean leading by 18 in New Hampshire (girlfriend stunt sinks Kucinich)
Results of a recent American Research Group Inc. poll among random New Hampshire voters likely to vote in the Jan. 27 Democratic primary show Howard Dean in the lead.

Of those polled, 438 said they were registered Democrats and 179 said they were undeclared.

The phone poll, taken Dec. 26-28, asked the following question of at least 600 residents selected at random: If the New Hampshire Democratic Presidential preference primary were being held today, for whom would you vote? Names of all candidates were given and randomly rotated by pollsters.

According to American Research Group, the margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.

It was noted that Dennis Kucinich, who is single, lost points with some voters for going on a publicized date with a New Jersey woman, saying his actions weren’t Presidential.

Howard Dean: 37 percent

John Kerry: 19 percent

Undecided: 18 percent

Wes Clark: 12 percent

Joe Lieberman: 6 percent

Dick Gephardt: 4 percent

John Edwards: 3 percent

Dennis Kucinich: 1 percent

Al Sharpton/Carol Moseley Braun: 0 percent

Other: 0 percent

1. This poll includes independants as well as Democrats
Independants can vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary. As the republican primary is not contested, it is a safe bet than may of them will participate in the Democratic primary.

2. I am glad Dean is doing so well
I am sorry that people didn't like DK's date thing. I thought it was kind of fun. I like DK.

6. I think the DK date thumbs down was due to
the notion that he was using public visibility to get laid (which I don't believe he was doing, but you'd be amazed at what can go through the public mind). I have a hilarious GOP version of that somewhere, I'll try to dig it up for you. Basically, this repuke was running on a campaign of conservatism and to find a "loyal, obedient, god fearing woman to be my wife".

He lost.

11. Thank God it's not about the issues anymore

12. Whose "Girlfriend Stunt"? The media's
And who chose to paint the newspaper's pages with that story, rather than the one about him fighting for the citizens who are fighting against Diebold? The media.

Good job!

The corporo-whore media can't fool youz guyz! :eyes:

And not the soft ones, either. Rather revolting to watch them at work.

14. Really!
And the girlfriend stunt wasn't even his idea.

But it's about the only time he made the news.

I wonder if the "supporter" who dreamed it up was actually a supporter.

16. Gee, which story do YOU think would sell more papers?
Surely you turn on the TV SOMETIMES. You are aware of what kind of culture we live in, right? Why Kucinich would essentially appear in a "Who wants to date a pesidential candidate" episode is beyond me.

Amazing is that he turned down the chance to go on Hardball or whatever. Either be sensationalist or don't. Make up your mind, Kooch!

15. much ado about nothing, I mean NH
New Hampshire is not that important. When there are more than 2 candidates in a party seeking the nod, as there were in 1992 and 1988 for the Dems, they didn't even choose the eventual nominee.

You sure worry a lot about someone supposedly polling at 1%. Is it worth all the energy and worry? It is amusing to watch. ;-)

18. let's just say...
For people backing the alleged frontrunner, you sure protesteth too much over candidates you arrogantly dismiss as inconsequential. Some kind of law of inverse proportions is at work here.

I would think you all would be above commenting on the others when Dean is supposed to be the next president and so forth. But we peasants down here supporting other candidates sure love the attention. ;-)
