Evidence that Edwards dropping out would rescue Obama? |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 09:01 PM by jackson_dem
I am sick of Obamites demanding, or saying Edwards "should" drop out to clear the way for King Obama to walk to his crown. They never show any data to support this meme. Put up or shut up. If Obama can't win on his own that's tough. If he cared so much about having only one strong candidate against Hillary he would have never run and it would have been Edwards vs. Hillary. Karma sucks...

5. well I've never said that. |

I think he should stay in and give his delegates to Obama in the event that there's no winner at the convention.

10. That makes sense and is Obama's best shot |
|
He is unlikely to beat Hillary in a straight fight. His best chance is staying close to Hillary and then getting Edwards delegates at the convention to put him over the top in exchange for giving Edwards the VP slot so Edwards could be president in 2016.

I heard one person say that the best thing that Obama has done was make Hillary more appealing. Don't assume that these votes will go to Obama.

in the top 50 progressive Senators. Clinton is in the top 25.
My choice is clear if Edwards is forced out, and it's not Obama.

16. Obama used to be my second choice. |
|
But, since I read his comment about Reagan and the "excesses of the '60s and '70s," I will not vote for him. There is no difference between Obama, Hillary and a Republican or at least not enough to warrant my voting.

17. Well, I don't want him to drop out and have posted so over and over. |
|
John Edwards can still pull the rabbit out of the hat. The mess that happened in Nevada did not tarnish him at all.
And the "results" in Nevada prove the caucus was a farce.
John got 5%? What sort of nonsense is that?
Hillary won the tiny vote, yet Obama gets more delegates.
Edwards is still a strong contender and the tide could move his way in South Carolina.
And, I want Edwards in the race because, as I have posted over and over, he keeps the debate progressive and keeps the feet to the fire.
Honestly, right now, it looks very good for the Clintons from this moment on. I hate to say it, but that's how it looks to me.

my support will switch to Hillary. Some of the Obamites on this board make the idea of switching a whole lot easier.
