There's A Video Up About The Black/Hispanic Split In Nevada
I don't think I need to post to it, because it's from a Fox News Frank Luntz focus group, but in it there's a Hispanic guy who says that the culinary workers are hispanic and they won't vote for Obama. A black woman at the other end of the group asks why, and then Frank Luntz asks why, and the Hispanic guy can't give an answer - or won't give an answer. He just says 'because'.

Then the video ends.

This is an issue, no matter how much we'd like to think it isn't.

Racial tensions are very much alive in this country, and sometimes they have nothing to do with white people.

United we stand, divided we fall.

2. Republicans...
use the Hispanics vs AA meme to attract AA to their party. They get AA all worked up over them losing jobs to hispanics due to illegal immigration. Sad but true.

5. That's certainly true. NOBODY does divisiveness like the GOP.
They're pure PNAC with their policy of "creative destruction" and destabilization - not just of the Middle East, but everywhere.

BASTARDS. I hope they eat shit in November. BIG STEAMING PILES of it. WITH turdblossoms on the side.

3. So they'd rather vote white than black?
Hmm..interesting, i never knew such racial tensions existed w/ hispanics and blacks. I don't get it though, I read an article the other day from a voter saying 'I don't think latinos are ready for a candidate of color'. It struck me b/c they are of color themselves, I don't quite understand the delusions or why this racial tension exists. By the way, i'm half hispanic myself for Obama

6. Consider the source and consider that source would like to split
our vote.

And, btw, there are a bunch of black Latinos in this country. :)

7. That just isn't true. Hispanics cover the color spectrum. It's a question of voter outreach.
See my post on the subject below.

It's an electorate that you can't talk AT, you have to talk WITH them. Clinton talks WITH them.

8. A recent poll showed that most minority groups don't trust other minority groups.
It is quite unfortunate, but I hope Obama makes some gains in states like CA.

11. Hispanic is not a race. It's an ethnicity.

4. Frank Luntz is an asswipe.
The Culinary Workers of America and UNITE are about forty percent Hispanic. Clinton has been working HARD on that demographic and getting good coverage on the national news (the news the gringos don't watch, on UNIVISION and TELEMUNDO).

It's not "an issue." It's a question of voter outreach and campaign organization. People vote for a candidate when that candidate gets off his or her ass and ASKS for that vote.

Clinton has been asking for the Hispanic vote for a couple of years now. She's not an unknown quantity to them. She gives them their props, she responds to their concerns, and they answer her back with their votes.

13. And this is EXACTLY why I posted a while ago
that if Obama gets the nomination he'd be a fool not to have Richardson as his running mate

However I still think by the time the swiftboaters turn Obama into a nasty black Muslim bound and determined to destroy Merica - he doesn't have a chance in the general.

When I was still a silly young thing I moved from a very non diverse city in Central NY to Washington DC and the racial tension between Hispanics and Blacks in my office was stunning to me. I never understood why two minority groups would act like this towards each other - still don't but I'm betting it hasn't changed much.....

And one my fabulous bi-racial nephews got himself in a tizzy when one of his teachers asked him if he was Mexican..... I have NO FRIGGIN idea where that came from and I said so what if you were....go figure

14. Racial tension comes in all colors, creeds, forms and shapes...
For decades there has been tensions between diverse groups because of color (Remember Westside Story?) There's been tensions between AA vs Hispanics, Irish vs Italians, Italians vs Hispanics or Blacks, White Americans vs Blacks, Chineses vs Japanesse and/or Blacks, Latinos vs Each other, etc.

Why is it that suddenly AA vs Blacks matter?? Because Republicans use this excuse to get the AA votes since they are rapidly losing the Latino vote due to their immigration stand. That's all...
