Hillary got more delegates in Iowa - she conceded, congratulated both others |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-20-08 12:08 AM by robbedvoter
In spite of the fraction of the percent difference from Edwards - she never called it a tie (like Edwards called with Clark in NH 2004 - with about 5 points dofference) Just sain'
The two delegate # f*ups just canceled each other - but remain a testament to the anti-democratic character of the caucases.

1. She did not get more delegates in Iowa. |
|
Sorry. She only came close with the superdelegates, which don't really count yet. http://abcnews.go.com/politics/elections/state?state=IA&ref=ipb

4. If I am wrong, the F*ups didn't even up - still no gripe from her |
|
Although I remember lots of gripes from Obama's camp when that seemed to be the case.

8. What did she have to gripe about? She lost both in votes and delegates.... |
|
FWIW, Obama also ended up with a tie in delegates in NH (now is leading), but he didn't gripe.
Hillary set the stage for this: 1). By downplaying the importance of the popular vote HERSELF in NV and highlighting that the delegates are all that matters (apparently her campaign was expecting the opposite result) 2). Claiming that bogus "victory" in Michigan where nobody else of consequence was on the ballot. Not very classy.

2. Lee Mercer Jr. has graciously conceded all three primaries/caucuses to date (not counting Michigan) |
|
Where is the class on the part of the "McCandidates"?

3. No, that's not true.... |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-20-08 12:11 AM by TwoSparkles
Hillary did NOT get MORE delegates from the Iowa caucus votes, than Obama did.
That is not true. I was a precinct captain in Iowa.
Obama garnered more delegates than Hillary. That's how he won!
I think you're talking about the "Super Delegates". Those are delegates that are given to a candidate, outside of the caucus proceedings. They have nothing to do with the caucus. Party officials or Democratic leaders give those delegates to a candidate.
Hillary did get more of those.
The issue in Nevada was that Obama got more delegates out of the caucus, but Hillary got more votes. That is true.
That was not the situation in Iowa...at all. Obama won the caucus---hands down.

6. It seemed this way on all the websites (CNN et al). Big fight on it on DU. |

I considered it wrong at the time - just as I consider this one wrong - on principle. Quite inconsequential, but not democratic. And really petty of Obama's campaign to hang their spin on it. In NH it was recounts. In Michigan - "no opposition" (in spite of Conyers robocalls). In Nevada - more delegates. Anyone see a pattern here?

7. More like 0.5 difference between Edwards and Clark |
|
And he called it a tie in his speech before all the votes had been counted. It was not clear who wound wind up 3rd at the time.

10. It was very clear - and NYT had to retract their lie. Clark was the 2008 Edwards |
|
media -wise. Although, it would be more accurate to say "Edwards played Clark" this time around. With the same consequences.

He's mentioned in one freaking paragraph that goes out of its way to dismiss any implications against him.
You'd know this if you did a little more reading. One of you own guys posted this tonight, so there's not a lot of excuse for your ignorance on the topic.

14. Sen. Clinton lost Iowa fair and square. |
|
NH and Nevada were loaded with dirty tricks and from what I am now hearing, disenfranchisement and intimidation in Nevada. Whenever McAulliffe is involved in anything you know it is sleazy and underhanded and sometimes illegal.
