Obama has won ONE out of three competitive primaries/caucuses. |
|
Hillary Clinton has won TWO of three competitive primaries/caucuses. Obama is behind Clinton in terms of primaries/caucuses (delegates will be awarded at a later date and are IRRELEVANT right now).
What about this first grade arithmetic is incomprehensible to some?
Yes, the race is relatively young, but Clinton has the BIG MO at this point in time.
And for Obamaniacs, sour grapes do not a tasty salad make.

But I have an idea, if Hillary is within 10 points of Obama in South Carolina and loses I will call it a "tie" and a "moral victory". LOL

5. But you are not giving Obama for what he has been able to accomplish..... |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-20-08 01:57 AM by FrenchieCat
which has been no small task.
He's running against an established 20 year old powerhouse that includes a team that sat in the White House for 8 years.
To not give Obama the additional credit for going up against all odds, which up until his 8 pt win in Iowa seemed to be a candidate that if not inevitable, was unsurmountable, is to not fairly give him his due.
Obama has to be twice as good to get 1/2 as far. He is offering a contest to those who believed there would be none. In addition, he is bringing voters out; voters who might not have otherwise participated. The fact that he has energized many, also means that Hillary voters are also more energized than it would have been otherwise.
And so for all of these accomplishments not counted on by anyone, Obama makes this contest more of a tie.

7. I'm not negating any of that. |

But the fact is that Hillary Clinton is ahead. Many Obama supporters refuse to accept this fact. That's all.

Moe is relative. Moe is what is perceived. Hillary got plenty moe for her 2.5 pt win in a state where she had been ahead by more than 25 points for an entire year.
But you should also remember that she finished 3rd in Iowa....not 2nd. So she should have lost more Moe than she did there....and Edwards should have been given some moe for coming in 2nd. Instead, he got absolutely none. So it is obvious that Moe is manufactured....and not based on what you have ordered.

12. But they're almost even in delegates. |

WAYYYY too soon to gloat. And even if it were the right time, it would not be the right time. These people are all Democrats and we are going to have to defeat the Republicans, not each other.

Obama - 1 win, 1 tie for first, 1 second
Clinton - 1 tie for second, 1 tie for first, 1 win
Edwards - 1 tie for second, two thirds (and Nevada wasn't close)
