Thoroughly disgusting.

There are just too many reports about voter suppression from the Clinton campaign during the Nevada caucus to slough off and pretend it didn't happen. The people's right to participate UNHINDERED in the democratic process is a sacred and constitutional right. The clear organizational attempt by the Clinton campaign to herd people to the Hillary side of caucus rooms, the turning away of caucus participants, the early closing of caucus locations, AND the heavy handed behavior of Bill Clinton disgusts me to the bone.

This should not be a proud campaign moment for ANY Clinton supporter. This stinks as if Karl Rove played a hand in all of this.

2. You mean the President of the United States standing in a caucus with an entourage
would actually be an UNFAIR INFLUENCE of caucus members!!!?

B-but, he's just another person, err, he didn't ACTUALLY break any laws, I mean... He's got a right, doesn't he? It's his wife, right?

Why would that exert any undue influence on the process?

Now THAT was scary. He looked like a big, red-nosed drunk verbally accosting that poor guy.

http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=lBYNIsvrTY4&feature=related

"Your position is..."

"That's your first position."

"Get on your TV station and say...!"

He was angrily pointing his finger at that guy putting words in his mouth like "So your position is that their votes should count 5 times as much!"

This was a reporter he was talking to. Wow.

28. I'm finding that some Clinton supporters call voter suppression "whining" very troubling
It should be the first thing that a TRUE Democrat would be troubled by when hearing about voter suppression. It should go beyond support for your candidate, especially if the candidate appears to have succeeded from the undemocratic process.

It's nothing new in this 2008 campaign. Hillary Clinton didn't want students who live in Iowa for nine months of the year to vote. The process of students who go to Iowa colleges and live out of state who caucus has happened since the first caucus there in 1972.

There are cases in New Hampshire where Clinton officials had Democratic party officials remove Obama supporters who were legally acting as observers at some polls. Exit polling that didn't jibe with Diebold machines in certain parts of New Hampshire have caused possible charges that a recount is in order. Does the Clinton campaign dare want to allow that? No.

Add that Bill Clinton comes across as a "Little League parent" and a "Olympic level whiner" adds to the disgusting mix.

South Carolina does not have a paper trail with their electronic voting machines. I smell a rat there as well.

45. I read that....
But it sounds like sour grapes to me. Much ado about nothing. He didn't like that Hillary supporters were registering people, but he was registering people and he's an Obama supporter and that's okay?

He didn't believe someone with a Brooklyn accent lived in NV? Have you ever been to Nevada? LV is filled with residents that grew up all over the country. What a douche to stand up in the middle of a caucus and accuse someone of lying because they have a NY dialect. I live in Seattle, but I grew up on the northcoast and people ask me all the time if I did because I sound like I did. Doesn't change the fact that I have lived and voted here for 7 years.

He thinks a guy in a wheelchair pushed by his daughter, a Clinton supporter, really wanted to caucus for Edwards, instead of Clinton? What, the guy is not capable of telling his own daughter he wants to vote for Edwards?

Puhleease. The guy writing that sounds like an immature douchebag.

66. Completely agree
My family (who back Obama) are disgusted with Hillary's tactics.

I really don't think she has a chance against McCain in the GE (That is if they get the nominations). The key voters here are not just Democrats it is also disenfranchised Republicans and Independents who are centrist.

I really want a candidate that will take those votes plus the Democrats as well, either Obama or Edwards fit the bill. Hillary's very divisive and will turn off these voters and possibly make for a VERY CLOSE election.

My mum said to me earlier, "Maybe Obama is too nice?"

I said, "Maybe."

However, if HE did the dirty tactics... he'd look worse off. Clinton would tell the news media that Obama is sexist and try to win points for her team that way.

I have said many times, I'm not a huge Hillary fan, but I will vote for whomever the nominee is in the GE. Just like I always do! But what are the tactics that you all are talking about. You complain and accuse, but you can't provide one bit of evidence. That's why people call you whiners.

We live in a democracy, and so far as the Dem nominee is concerned s/he will be chosen through the party system. May not be your favorite candidate -- lord knows I had to hold my nose to vote for Kerry. But that's the way it goes. Whining isn't going to change anything.

Please, this thread and half of DU is filled with this nonsense and there is not a shred of proof of any of it. Man, what a bunch of whiners. So far all I can see is that she is winning. Is that what you mean by "outrageous" behavior? She had the audacity to campaign and win? Guess what? She is leading in almost every poll for every state on Super Tuesday. Is that outrageous as well??? For shame, Hillary. How dare you?

Why don't you go out and talk to people? All you are exposed to here is the base. My take, when I talk to neighbors and friends is that they would like the Clinton years back, and women, especially, would like to see a woman finally elected president of this country.

* Shaheen: "Cocaine, cocaine, drug-dealing. Cocaine."
* Mark Penn: "Cocaine, cocaine, cocaine. Cocaine."
* 3 midlevel HRC staffers caught distributing "Obara.Muslim.Fear" emails.
* Clinton campaign pimping the notion that brown people won't vote for black people.
* Clinton invoking the fear card by referencing al Queda and what is sure to be an imminent attack if SHE isn't elected.
* Clinton by proxy filing a lawsuit to suppress the vote.
* etc., etc., and on and on

Get the picture yet? No?

But Obama is not responsible for his. Do I have that right? And also, havent we spent years railing about the alcoholic and his cocaine addled past? But it's fine if Obama used to do cocaine? Honestly, I don't think I want an ex cocaine user in charge of the country. Is there some reason I shouldn't know about that given that it's true?

So, no, I don't get the picture. And my preference is Edwards, so I'm not a Clinton supporter defending Clinton. And I'm not in denial. I'm just a Dem wondering why Obama's supporters are so whiny.

There is no election manipulation going on here. Your guy not winning does not equal election manipulation. There is not a shred of proof of any such thing. I think some people just need to grow up and realize their candidate isn't always the winner. Honestly, the immaturity of the Obama supporters here is really a turn off. He strikes me as a bit immature as well, so maybe he just attracts those sort of people.

62. Riiiiight!! And denial is just a river in Egypt.
Please continue your amusing campaign of denial, the campaign of dis/misinformation that further underscores the fact that the Clintons will stop at nothing to win.

Voter suppression and intimidation isn't okay when the GOP does it, and it sure as hell isn't okay when the Clintons do it.

We've got your/their number and aren't going to allow yet another uber-ambitious politician TAKE yet another election regardless of which side of the aisle they are on.

63. How sad it is, Atomic, that this kind of excuse making comes from progressives.
