Hillary runs a misleading radio ad. |
|
She uses a copy of Obama's Reagan comments. The ad doesn't explain the context. The ad implies that by Obama saying the republicans were the party of ideas that Obama is thus endorsing those ideas. It blasts him for saying the republicans had ideas then it goes on to say the that Hillary thinks the republicans had ideas too. Except the ad when referring to Clinton makes sure to say that she thinks they are bad ideas. Basically she pans him for something and then says the same thing. Unbelievable. A must listen to ad.... http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0108/Clinton_radio_Ideas.html#comments

1. Nothing wrong with that ad. When Obama said the Republicans had all the ideas |
|
one could only infer that he meant that as a compliment to the Republicans, especially since he said they accomplished something that even Bill Clinton couldn't do. There is no other way to take his comments.

the RW tripe about excesses of the 60's and 70's, I inferred that he was praising the Republicans.

11. That's the whole point, |

nothing was settled in the 60's and 7o's, and it was those very issues that Obama's spokesman referred to as the "Democrats' disease" on CNN. He blame those issues as the reason that prevent Democrats from being elected. That's almost verbatim DLC.

6. thre is a way to interpret his comments |
|
The way he intended. It was obvious to me that he wasn't endorsing Reagan's ideas. In the debate he clarified for everyone that he thinks the republicans have bad ideas.(the same thing hillary is saying)
yet she is still trying to paint him as republican. DIRTY ROVIAN politics.
he was talking about Reagan's ability to get craploads of votes.....
Do you really think people are dumb enough to think that Obama is trying to get elected by endorsing Reagan's policies? Anyone who has studied what Obama has done in the senate and where he stands on the issues knows that he is the complete opposite of Reagan. Who do you think you guys are actually going to fool.

13. I'll tell you what I think, |

I think that Obama was trolling for Republican votes with those comments. Did he even identify himself as a Democrat? I heard that he didn't.

14. Your logic doesn't even make sense. |
|
If he was trolling for republican votes how was he going to get them to vote in the "Democratic" caucuses if he was as you are implying trying to hide what party he is in. You are full of it.

9. Clinton left out the context... |
|
She also left out his clarification at the debate. It leaves an impression that Obama liked the policies.

|
turnabout is fairplay, I hope we can get some good quotes from that. And while we're at it, maybe we can dislodge BC's lips from Poppy Bush's ass. If he were hanging out with Jimmy Carter, I'd be more forgiving, but Bush?

15. Obama is parsing what "is" is. |
|
Big Dog always gets flack for parsing his words. But that's exactly what Obama is doing here.
BO wanted the endorsement of the Las Vegas Sun, a conservative paper, and wanted to appeal to "Reagan Democrats" whom the MSM has persuaded him are a large part of the electorate, one that is ripe for harvest by a nice clean, new, presentable, non-threatening candidate like himself.
So what he did was bow at the altar of Reagan, however briefly, to assure the electorate that he remembers the Gipper with much the same awe that they do.
But real Democrats don't remember Reagan affectionately, so when he was challenged for genuflecting toward Reagan, BO pulls a Slick Wille and says "Well, I didn't really say he was a really GOOD president, I just said he really WAS a president.
Obama was tried to pander to Reagan supporters and the Clintons called him on it. Now, he wants to claim he didn't try to do what it's obvious he DID. By parsing words.

16. I can argue till I turn blue with your assumption of what he meant... |
|
but regardless he clarified his postion on reagan at the debate....so why is Hillary running this ad. This ad is suggesting that Obama likes republican policies. Last time I checked he has voted more liberal than Hillary in the senate.
