Unforgivable Primary Filth |

How can any person of principle remain a Democrat after Jimmy Carter v Ted Kennedy (1980) ?
And for those who adore the political purity of straight shooters, who can go past the immortal bullets of Walter Fritz Mondale (1984)
"Let's tell the truth. It must be done, it must be done. Mr. Reagan will raise taxes, and so will I. He won't tell you. I just did"
Words that still live in infamy.

I'm responding to posts about people are 'losing faith' in this 'dirty' primary season. 1980 was, I think, a razor fight billed as a duel to the death for 'heart and soul' of the Democratic Party.
I quoted Mondale in response to the Truth v Lies debate. However truly he believed them, Fritz gave the Republican a rod for our backs that has been wielded ever since.
In summary - this is not a really dirty primary, and a bit of obfuscation can go a long way.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if people here are being serious. Especially these days, when it seems like even the most ridiculous posts are meant to be serious.
