I was looking at 1988 results, and on super tuesday Jesse Jackson won all the deep south, and Al Gore won all the border-south, so the each took a line all the way from the Mississippi to the atlantic, with Gore's line being atop jacksons.
It wouldn't surprise me to see something similar this year, with Clinton winning the border states

Looking at the topline may give you a warm fuzzy.... but there is a whold lot of datae that suggest that no one should count there chickens yet.
