Why is it that time after time after time Clinton comes in last on DU? |
|
She's always comes in last place in polls here when people ask for their favorite candidate. She always comes in first when people ask which candidate they would like to see get the nomination least.
Why do you think that is?

Why would they have to be haters? They disagree with her, at the least. Many here are progressive. She is not.

34. Al Gore would have been raked over the coals as a white, southern |
|
corporate STOOLIE who is too much of a DLC/Centrist with a wife who wanted to prevent musicians from expressing themselves, had DU been in operation back then.
Much of this invective would have been thrown by the Bill Bradley camp, and the Gore-ites would have responded with insightful comments like "Well, Bradley has a fucking BASKETBALL growing out of his neck--that CHIN thing of his makes him look like a Thanksgiving TURKEY!!!"
There probably would have been a sizeable NADER contingent who would keep disrupting, despite moderator warnings, and screaming about how "All the parties are alike!! Corporatist PIGS!!! Ralph is the ONLY one who REALLY UNDERSTANDS the issues!"
I shudder to think about it. Lotsa heat, little light. Oh well, it warms the house in winter!

Because as the frontrunner, she logically has two people who are running against her lead--thus, two groups of supporters who dislike her.
That's also why Edwards usually comes in first in those polls, BTW.

41. Most of our polls, as are the polls on many sites, are subject to action alerts... |
|
on other sites.
Lets take Dennis for an example. Nationwide, he polls down around 1%. Here on random polls, he has had some poll totals of 40% or better. That is not realistic and is not reflected by reality polls.
Perhaps Hillary supporters have been ignoring some of the repetitive polls on these DU threads.
Compare any of these ramdon polls with any or all of the national polls and the difference is quite clear.

I am suprised there wasn't a gravel club here, frankly. There are more kucinich supporters here that he got votes in Iowa and New Hampshire combined. Edwards runs away with polls here, but lags, big time, in the real world. It's the same reason the freepers liked Hunter and FreddieT, it's east to support a nonviable candidate on an anonymous message board. No one wants to be seen supporting the frontrunner of a year, much better to support your esoteric outlier and then the insurgent candidate, much cooler than supporting the leader. We can make valiant statements like 'I will never vote for hillary' you notice you never see the Hillary people saying 'I will never vote for Edwards/kucinich/gravel/dodd (etc) if he is the nominee' because they don't need to make dramatic statements to get attention, because they are winning. (note I specifically did not include Obama on that list, but a month ago I would have, now that he is a challenge, hillaryites are paying attention.) and all the self-percieved outsiders, the ones who picked anyone but the front runner, are picking anyone but Hillary, the perceived insider, to prove our outsider credibility. If obama or Edwards had spent the past year as the frontrunner, we'd be piling on them.
