Bill paints Obama as "establishment candidate"
This is a example of the "say anything to win" campaign they are running.

How fucking stupid do you have to be to paint him as a newby with no experience...and then call him the establishment candidate ?

Holy shit already. Do the Hillhacks really buy into this ? I would hope they were smarter than this...but here we are.

They apparently think Americans are retarded.

War is peace.
Black is white.

30. Perhaps you could rewrite "Crybaby" for Obama
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 03:08 PM by niceypoo
...given he can't take it on the chin without running away crying. At least Hillary can take it on the chin. I fear Obama would get eaten alive in a general election.

Although, in fairness, all the candidate have ticks we could spoof.

13. Well, Bush proved it.
including all the orwellian language.

War is peace.

I, for one, thought the Democratic party was smarter than to fall for this sort of crap.
But in the last few weeks here on DU, I've learned otherwise.

8. you mean like obama suggesting he is the change candidate
when his campaign is run by the establishment and he is using Kerry (can't get more established than that) to campaign for him?

Obama wants it both ways.

15. explain to me, how he is the candidate of change?
It is more fairy tale from the Obama camp.

Look: Obama is all about politics. He pretends to be the agent of change because that is what has worked in past campaigns. He uses the establishment and then touts the establisment support.

He is playing the political game.

When called on, you guys get all freaked out. Open your eyes. Obama is playing politics no less than Clinton is.

19. He isn't.
He uses pandering and accommodationist rhetoric to give a soft "glow" to his candidacy without saying much of anything concrete that matters to people who pay attention to politics.

17. I did not say that. I said that Obama is pretending to not be establishment
while using establishment. He is playing politics. His campaign is attempting to create a personna: one who was always against the war (ignore his record please), who is the agent of change (ignore his record please) and who is anti-establisment (ignore the people he surrounds himself with). It is playing politics, creating a personna.

Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are Senators, therefore both are "Establishment" candidates, and John Edawrds is an EX-Senator.

28. Bill sez Obama not "A" establishment candidate but "The" establishment candidate
"The former president trumpeted New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's accomplishments while painting Obama as the "establishment" candidate"

On the other hand we don't have the exact quote, but unless it has been mischaracterized, Bill Clinton is full of it.

32. Glad you're willing to take the media's word for it.
I'm not. For days they played the whole Clinton "screaming" at reporters meme, then when I saw the clip, he didn't even raise his voice. They've done the same with Obama, too. If the media declared it was sunny, I'd grab my umbrella.

38. I believe it because I think that it was a point Bill Clinton wanted
to make. He wants to be all up is down and black is white to try to shake up how Obama is perceived in the media.

He knows it sounds ridiculous, but he wants Obama to be framed differently, as old instead of fresh so he will say anything.

This is my take on it.

26. One of Obama's advisor's is on Nora O'Donnell going on and on and on about Hillary
...and Bill. Obama is using the media frenzy to go after the Clinton's by intentionally keeping it in the news by hyping and whining about it.

Apparently any and all criticism of Obama is "disturbing" or "over the line," but hyper, fine tooth comb, criticism of anybody else is acceptable and encouraged by the Obama camp. Why else would he have his personal advisors pushing it on the news?

It is the same thing done by the republicans to Gore in 2000, where they went through every statement or vote he ever made, intentionally took them out of context, and attacked him with it. The lazy media didn't bother looking at the efficacy of the accusations and just ran with it. The exact same thing is happening now except the railroading is being done by freeper types and Obama supporters and OBAMA ADVISORS.

The more I watch this whole non issue play out the more Obama looks like a whining crybaby. I never ever see his camp discuss issues. It's always attack, whine, attack, whine, attack.
