Let me start out by saying I have gone over the line a few times. I would never even dream of saying my opinions are never hyperbolic, because they have beem...As a general rule I prefer heated discussion to verbal vigilantism. Come at my post with fact and I will listen...I will engage I will honestly debate.. If I go after someone else's OP I will typically ask question rather than slam them.

I believe in free speech. I will defend to the end your right to say anything you wish... but there comes a point where post become so divisive.. so anger-filled, so caustic and derisive, so lacking in substance, so repetitive.. so void of anything substantive or contributory it is unhealthy to even see them on the main GD-P screen.

What is most troubling about these posters is that they rarely are endorsing of their own candidates as much as they are just finding ways to ding the people they do not like.


To a point that is ok, but the pookie/Rezko/Florida ads/Race card screed is just gotten to the point where it makes me ill. There is little substance to any of it and yet these four or five folks have nothing else to contribute than these sophomoric one-liners worthy of the GOP rather than the party of enlightenment.


These folks are tearing DU apart and it is shameful and juvenile....most of it they can't even defend or will not stay around long enough to engage in a dialog because they are to busy posting new addled crap with the hopes of...God know what....Do they actually think they are earning the respect of anyone here?

Now I suspect they are going to say I am whiny and a wimp...so be it. I have been on DU since 2002 and no one's bullying and asinine posts are going to push me out.

If all they are going to do is sit behind your computer and prattle on day and night without anything substantive to add that is their business....but I call on other DUers who care about the quality of this site..to start using the ignore feature. Not because they don't have the right to say what you want but because you value the DU community.

One thing I keep wondering is how some of these people could think I would automatically jump to their candidate, or be happy to vote for them if they get the nomination, after they've thrown crap at everyone.
