Delegates: Obama 63 -- Clinton 48
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 10:11 AM by EV_Ares
The Kennedy's endorsement also is going to really give him campaign a bigger lift. The momentum was already shifting and now he can roll even faster with the old lion's backing and campaigning.

4. Once you include them, Clinton is well in the lead. However...
that's pretty meaningless, since superdelegates are notoriously fickle. If one candidate or another comes out on top, they'll flee the loser like the proverbial rats from the sinking ship.

15. Weren't there some that were complaining about the super delegates?
That they had too much say or something?

16. Well, that's different. That's because of the amount of superdelegates.
You need 2025 delegates to be elected, and there are some 800 superdelegates, so if all of them vote one way or another, they can probably decide who gets the nomination regardless of how the primary voters vote.

However, just like voters, the superdelegates back various nominees. Getting them all to vote as a bloc is nigh impossible.

6. Where did those numbers come from?
I thought Clinton had 230 and Obama had 152 and Edwards had 61 so far. Someone should correct CNN and all of the other delegate counting tallies that are out there.

12. It gets complicated. Many in the Hillary camp are starting to portray
Obama as the "establishment" candidate given his endorsement by many high-profile Democrats.

I think both sides want the other candidate to be portrayed as the "establishment" candidate. ;)

9. Those counts include soft and non-binding delegates, to wit Nevada
For instance, in Nevada they will go through two more processes, at the end of the last process the delegates receive a final commitment to a candidate.

The Democratic Party of Nevada has attempted to tell MSM this over and over again, but MSM refuses to acknowledge that the Democratic Party of Nevada has the final say. CNN is competing with MSNBC to look like the big kid, all the while acting like spoiled brats that want their own way above all else.

11. And... Obama is undefeated in contested primaries.
Won:
IA
SC
NV on delegates

Tied
NH on Delegates

Hillary still hasn't won a single contested primary.

17. Are you saying the facts have a well-known Obama bias?
I suspected something like that might be the case...
