1. FL should ask themselves how bad an idea it was to push their primary ahead against DNC rules n/t

3. The DNC
should ask ITSELF how wise was it to again allow the Florida democrats to feel like they are being disenfranchised-this time BY THEIR OWN PARTY

5. The Florida Democrats... Not The National Democrats!! That's Who

6. I'm sick and tired of
New Hampshire and Iowa being allowed to wield 20 times the power that any other state in the primaries and caucuses-that NEEDS to be changed. I'd like to be eating breakfast some morning and have a candidate come in and ask for my vote-personally

9. and exactly who is "FL"?????
the party?

the voters?

Who should ask themselves this question? Do you think the individual voters got a chance to weigh in? Do you think we should be disenfranchised?

12. Bingo! that's the 60,000 question! Voters din't decide that one. They shouldn't be
penalized. other ways to deal with whatever it was - should have been found. Anything but this!

13. EXACTLY!!!!
two competing orgs with their petty power plays . . . but the Florida voters got screwed.

And what really bothers me is that 1/2 the posters here at DU do not care. They feel the votes from Florida should be ignored. This is completely opposite from traditional Democratic principles.

14. No - I don't think anyone should be disenfranchised
But the FL Dem Party knew this would happen if they pushed their primary to before 2/5. But they did it anyway. Maybe you should lay the blame at their feet. The repukes stripped MI and FL of half their delegates. Frankly, I think that would have been more appropriate for the DNC as well. Are FL repukes complaining about losing half their delegates?

17. Well, The Best Thing Would Have Been To Let US Vote On It....
but HOW would WE know if the decision was real?? Somehow, this was worked out in a very weird way, and a Democracy WOULD have let us vote for it.... BUT THEN, we spread Democracy around the WORLD... we just don't practice it here!!!

4. Personally, I Live Here... I Don't Think It's Getting Skipped! BOTH
Clinton AND Obama are campaigning here NOW! CHEATERS!

In the end, it will be "for nothing" and THEY will blame it ALL on Howard Dean!! Dean wasn't "their guy" anyway, but WE wanted him and it was too hard to buck him at the time. I seriously doubt he will EVER get credit for his 50 state strategy, or anything else. Bet he won't even be chairman for all that long! As I recall, after 2006 I kept hearing about how much Rahm Emanuel and Chuckie Schumer did to get Democrats elected! And both of them are in Clinton's pocket too, IMHO!

I'm so fed up with this stuff that I've decided to bow out after the GE this time! I've had enough, will vote for John Edwards (somehow) and BE GONE!! Can't take this corruption anymore! We are being used and abused!!

8. You are absolutely correct.
Use the GE and write in Edwards.

That is exactly my plan.

Edwards will be getting my vote!!!

7. Absolutely!!!!!!
I live in Florida.

My vote in the GE will be a write-in for my D-candidate, not that of the DNC.

I hope others will vote the same way.

10. Oh, no...who needs to win Florida or even Michigan in the general election...
I think it was brilliant that the DNC and Howard Dean decided to dis~enfranchise the voter of both those states. Who needs their support. Better if they vote repub...who wants and needs more votes for whomever becomes our candidate. There will be no repercussions.:sarcasm:

16. Yeah, why bother even courting their votes? Who needs Florida to win? We DON'T!
Let the Florida voters be disenfranchised. They vote for the repubs anyway.:eyes:

18. Well If The Florida Democrats (the ones in office) Had Played By THE RULES....
this wouldn't have been AS screwed up as it is!! There was a process set up and Florida decided with the Repuke Legislature to turn it on it's head!! Makes you WONDER just WHO Karen Thurman is as far as I'm concerned!!

And of course, I have already seen Bill Nelson in action far too many times. If I had thought the Independent could have won in 2006 I most certainly WOULD NOT have voted for him. But since it was "Cruella" running against him, and she was MY Representative for two terms, I most certainly didn't TRUST what strings SHE may have pulled!! Knowing what happened in the past, there was no telling what she might have done! As it was, as CRAZY as she was depicted, I believe THIS county actually voted for her!! Or so it looked!!

Why would you think it could have worked out?? Ever since 2000 it's been unreal beyond comprehension. I also live in the county that lost all those votes, and Jeez... they never found them!! Working together isn't something that seems one can accomplish down here!!
