CBS Anchor Hints At Obama Assassination During Kennedy Interview
Early Show's Smith Bizarrely Hints At Obama Assassination

Senator Ted Kennedy, having endorsed Barack Obama for President, has begun his barnstorming on behalf of the candidate in earnest. This morning found Kennedy on CBS' The Early Show, where anchor Harry Smith, apparently lacking the wit or the wherewithal to pursue a more substantive line of questioning, took the opportunity to do a little whistling past the Kennedy family graveyard:

SMITH: When you see that enthusiasm though, and when you see the generational change that seems to be taking place before our eyes, does it make you at all fearful?

Naturally, Kennedy really didn't catch on to what Smith was driving at, and responded, "I think that what people are basically saying is that they want a new day and a new generation."

Lacking a more heavy-handed way of getting his point across, like, say, whipping out the Zapruder film or something, Smith delicately waded back into the matter of political assasination:

SMITH: I just...ahhh--I think what I was trying to say is, sometimes agents of change end up being targets, as you well know, and that was why I was asking if you were at all fearful of that.

Kennedy elected not to speculate on the matter, for once demonstrating that the repetition of campaign talking points can help to paper over a host of media sins.

It's just like the GOP with Ray-gun, enough already.
Obama should try to be his own man.

2. Oh. My. God. The man's brothers were murdered.
Harry Smith should lose his job for this. Seriously. Ted Kennedy lost all three of his brothers in service to their country. I can't believe that anyone would be stupid enough to say something like this.

5. MLK as well
Aren't they attempting to morph the souls of JFK and MLK into the one body of BHO?
Can two souls take over one body?
Maybe Ann Rice could help us out here?

16. Isn't the point of this thread the abuse of corporate networks? If you
read between the lines, some of us might believe that Smith and his bosses were trying to make it look like Kennedy was assassinated because he was popular - which would nicely soften the more logical and real background to the assassination. Why go off point? Why knock a Kennedy for stupid questions from an MSM hack and his bosses and the WH they report to?

20. It's NOT bizarre.
We've been warning you for months now these are dangerous comparisons to make. Kennedy dynasty. The dynasty is built on the corpses of two MURDERED MEN. What a great legacy to bequeath.

Something else to remember about JFK, although it will always be difficult for those of us who were alive to mourn his loss, he was very much a manufactured media image. We saw him as vibrant with health and youth: he was in agonizing pain with a chronic and debilitating disease. We saw him as the perfect husband and father, head of the model American family: Girls were being smuggled into the White House for him when his wife was out of town.

But grief isn't softened by truth of any kind. Grief is grief. He was ours and we lost him. He was ours, no matter how little we really knew him, and we cried in our homes, our churches, and our temples. Now his family says that the man who can fulfill that unfulfilled destiny is Barack Obama.

What destiny would that be? Ted Kennedy never ran for the presidency and Ted is the only brother still alive. I don't know if he handed Obama a great gift or a time bomb.

I can understand why other people would wonder about the same thing.

They've gone a little more fluffy and tabloid-y to go along with their new set.
