regardless of who you like for the "big chair"
If nominated who do you think they will pick as their sidekick?
Months ago it was conceivable there might be an Obama-Clinton or Clinton-Obama ticket... considering the sniping, slams etc I seriously doubt if that is even a remote possibility
I can't see Edwards willing to be sidekick again, although if Edwards wins the nomination it is possible he might tap Obama
As far as Obama or Clinton winning nomination, the only one that comes to mind as VP pick would be Richardson, possibly Biden.
Most likely it will be a big "surprise"
on the Republic side:
the primary battle is between McCain and Romney. Gut feeling tells me McCain will be the repub nominee. His campaign persona is one who is strong on "defense", but he's weak on domestic issues, he's also lacking in attracting the religious right.
Romeny has the religious angle with reservations as he's a morman and not an evangelical, but he does talk a good game when it comes to domestic issues (not that I agree with him, just saying he talks a good game).
Huckabee has God on speed dial.
and there's speculation about Mr. 9-11 being tapped by McCain. But I don't see where he would help McCain's run.
If McCain gets the nomination, I'm betting he'll go with Huckabee to reel in the religious right.
If it's Romney at the top of the ticket - he'll tapped McCain to reel in the war hawks

Clinton picks Richardson to solidify the Latino vote, foreign policy, etc
Obama picks Bloomberg to one keep him from running and two to push harder on the unity theme. I think he would tap Richardson for Sec of State.
McCain picks Huck (I agree with you and I think they have been working together anyway), gives him the religious creds and a populist who might be more in touch with the common folk, Huck while a bit goofy has said a few thing in the debate that offer that common touch, adds to the maverick look on domestic side while McCain can be the strong foreign policy guy. Rudy will be tapped for Homeland Security or some other cabinet post, perhaps AG as a quid pro quo for helping.
Romney picks Matt Blunt soon to retire Gov of Missouri. The Boy Gov is quitting after one term, has done early fundraising for Mitt, is young and has a family covered up in politics.
I think that Ron Paul will run and that Bloomberg will as well. This could be a very, very bizarre election cycle......
Those are just my thoughts on the mix, none of us know.......

4. I definitely think Edwards will pick Obama. |
|
That would be an unbeatable team in the GE and Edwards is smart enough to realize that. Plus, I think he likes Obama.
