I'm not a Hillary Clinton supporter but I'll cut her some slack on her "Florida Victory Lap" |
|
OK, so Hillary hits the cable networks and makes a big deal about a decisive win in Florida even though according to the rules agreed upon by all candidates, she won zip, zero, nada delegates to the convention.
Does anyone think really think, that if he'd won Florida, Barack Obama wouldn't be out trumpeting this victory to the hills and calling for these delegates to be seated at the convention in the interest of fairness and the need for the party to not dismiss the good people of Florida? Does anyone really think that Hillary wouldn't be downplaying this contest as meaningless and muttering about the need for all candidates to play by the rules?
This is politics, folks. No more no less and predictable as sunrise.

And neither was the Clinton campaign's attempt to block the special caucus sites for casino workers they had all agreed on before the union most of those workers belonged to endorsed Barack Obama.

I disagree with your op but it's fair-minded and rational and there's no excuse for the a-holish response by that poster.

3. It would be nice to think so but I doubt it. |
|
Obama would have the rhetorical skills to make it sound better, though.

10. You are being ridiculous! |

Maybe Obama has class...but you sure don't. You don't help your candidate with that kind of talk.

11. Obama and Edwards votes combined... |
|
were far less than Hillarys. She received more votes than any candidate...either democrat or republican. Of course it was as victory. After all those people went out to vote it would have been rude to not thank them or just phone it in. Delegates or not...the people deserved and party.

all rolled into 1. He is flawless and perfect and his only detractors are bitter gay Hillary supporters who only support Hillary because they are hypocritical and evil. Sadly, this barely qualifies as sarcasm.

And Hillary's Joan of Arc, Elizabeth I and Golda Meir all rolled into one and anyone who doesn't support her is a woman hating agent of opression--at least according to that woman from New York NOW.

1. Obama saw the spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is my beloved nominee in whom I am pleased." (Matthew 3:13)
2. Obama fed 5000 screaming fans from a single bag of Cheeto's.

14. We usually say "You would have done it, too", when we think we have done something wrong. |
|
We will never really know, whether Obama would have trumpeted a win there or not. Clinton, Obama and Edwards agreed not to campaign or "participate" in the Michigan and Florida primaries. Would Obama have considered "trumpeting" a win in Florida to be "participating" in the primary. I guess we can all profess to "know" one answer or the other. Even if he didn't avoid "trumpeting" for ethical reasons (maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't), he would have to ponder whether the PR value of "trumpeting" against the cost to his image (he hopes ;) ) as an "different kind" of politician.
