Salute to Edwards and his supporters. |

Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 09:11 AM by blm
You fought an uphill battle, and gave it a great shot.
I don't doubt that the call for attention to poverty has been heard and noted in the hearts and minds of more Democrats thanks to Edwards' focus, his campaign and you.
Salute.

He clarified the issues and was like a rudder in the debates. I think he is smart to exit gracefully.

I decided very early on to back Edwards, and I have not regretted it for a moment.
He made a difference, and I am proud of him.

I am glad that Edwards spoke the message he did, and inspired as much support as he did, even though I support another candidate.
I hope his goals will be carried forward at least in some measure by the eventual nominee.

7. Edwards supporters distinguished themselves |
|
even though I was skeptical about his appeal, I appreciated how they (mostly) posted positive things about him compared to trashing the others.

10. Many think Edwards pulled the Democrats to the left. Greatly needed in our corporatist governance. |
|
Left of center, on the issues, is really where Americans, no matter how "moderate" they may describe themselves.

sounds about right.
And it isn't about some consolation prize.
A lot of times being POTUS means getting caught in the swamp while others get to implement the change.
He can be the Enforcer. The one who actively takes on the corporations.

25. I criticized him for his shift from a moderate to a left-leaning populist, but |
|
Edwards helped to keep the debate focused on progressive issues! That's a win for progressives.
Best of luck to John Edwards and his family.
