What kind of debate do you expect tonight? |
|
In their first, and I believe only head-to-head debate, Obama and Clinton will be distinguishing themselves from each other. Each trying for the final boost before BigTues, just 5 days from now.
I hope for a lively and civil debate. Keep it clean. How do you think it will shake out?

1. Clinton will use the velvet hammer |
|
Obama never seems to notice he's been roped in and hung by his own belt until about 2 mins after she's done it.

4. Clinton will try to trap; any sort of assertiveness by Obama will be spun as arrogance. |
|
The Clinton camp will spin Hillary as the victim (poor woman!) of the meanie man. :eyes:
He either stands there and lets her pile on or he fights back - he's kinda screwed either way. We'll see.

6. I don't really know what to expect. It's kind of uncharted waters. |
|
I do know that Clinton will say "I" dozens of times while Obama will say "We".

8. I think they will kiss and make up. |

It should be quite nauseating. If the moderator yells "Get a room you two." we know we're in trouble.
Seriously, both have been damaged by the ongoing nastiness. I expect a fairly high minded debate.

They're so close on the issues they may as well be in the same suit. So instead of substantive debate on issues, we'll get to see a petty pissing match over whose style plays better in Peoria.
Thank the gods that stupid lifeguard show is on TruTV.

12. It's totally gonna be shitty |

They are fighting for the Presidency. In many ways, it really is the apex, the culmination, the most important event of the campaign.
I hope they have a real debate, I hope they point out their differences, and I hope they represent Democrats well. I'm looking forward to it... but I'm nervous as hell.
Goddamn what an incredible ride this campaign has been. Wish we political junkies could pause and appreciate that from time to time before going back out and beating the shit out of each other. :-)

11. After the heat they took for fighting at the last debate, I think tonight will be calm and guarded. |
|
The attacks will be subtle.
