People who are still attacking John Kerry because they themselves are so Pure ,I just have one suggestion.
Can we agree NOT to attack Him until AFTER Kerry's win in Nov. I'm sure the fanatics won't listen, but I'm talking about the ones who are passionate about issues but REASONABLE.
You may have your differences about Kerry, but GIVE Kerry Campaign money and your support, and get everyone you know to VOTE for Kerry!
SHRUB MUST GO.
After Kerry gets in Office, then you can SLASH and Burn him.
I don't agree 100% with Kerry, I don't intend on attacking him on some issues until after Nov. 2nd.
Thanks for being Civil and Smart.

So you want CHAOS and ill will upon others ?? Revolutions such as the one --"Rising up" suggests violence and people will get hurt.
Im sorry , I can't support that, So I will do the best thing I can That is, Vote for Kerry and change that direction.

I wanted to waste my vote for Kucinich, until I found out he favored legalizing Marijuana yet opposed the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion on religious grounds.
I guess DK is a good (conservative) Catholic and Kerry is a bad (liberal) one since DK opposes "pro choice" and Kerry favors it.

He is still personally against abortion. He also finally saw the assault on choice for what it was. He doesn't want it made illegal, and doesn't want it outlawed. He wants a society that doesn't need abortions, and it goes right in line with every other thing he believes in. I believe Dennis saw it wrong and admitted it. He still has a personal conviction against abortion. So fucking what.

31. Many Kerry supporters tell the rest of us to just go away and shut up, |
|
because we won and all of you backed the losers. But remember to come back in November and vote for Kerry, then go away because we won and we don't have to listen to you! We will tell you what to think and say!
Sorry folks, I am an American and I will say what I want, wherever I want!
I will vote ABB, in spite of all of you. But, after November, I and many others may decide that this Democratic Party is too conservative and moving too far to the right. We may have to form a party which believes in Human Rights and the Rights of the Individual, not Corporations and the Rich and Powerful! Watch us! We believe that We, the people, Have The Power and it will grow more powerful year after year.
I will never forget the take down of Dean, the put downs of Kucinich, the focus on Clark's not being or acting like a politicians. The constant focus on all the "Not the Perfect sounding, looking, acting" Candidate. Some of us were more interested in function over form, on the message not the messenger. In the future, maybe some of you will be able to see the facts of this. But, not now!
I will never post what I think of Kerry, because I do not wish to give the repubs any ammo. But, don't expect me to be glad about the choices some Americans have made.

If they want to snap and snarl at John Kerry here on DU, I say let 'em rip. Better here than writing a letter to the editor. Or holding all that anger inside and letting it keep the person from voting in November.

Clinton was my second choice in the 1992 primary (he was too conservative for me); however, while I didn't always agree with his policies as president (NAFTA, WTO, Welfare reform), I appreciated those eight years of job security and relative peace. Clinton paid a high price for this country's welfare. I feel he would be ashamed of us Dems if we don't rally behind our candidate (whoever it turns out to be).

...by people who are telling me to jump on the Kerry bandwagon now, I agree that attacking him is destructive. He will be the nominee. And while I think it's important to vote your conscience in the primaries, to send as many delegates who support your point of view to the convention as possible, and send a message to Democratic leadership that certain issues that may be under-represented by Kerry are important, I think the so-called purity test is self-defeating, and I think it's unwise to contribute ammunition against him as we need to defeat Bush above all.
So essentially, I agree with you, but I'm not changing my sig-line graphic until the convention.

28. Good idea...but your tone needs some work |
|
OK. I kind of agree that we should back off the attack Kerry bandwagon until after the election. Well, that said, I also think that being honest with ourselves and those around us is the most effective political strategy...conservatives respect me when I call Kerry what he is and then bash Bush in the next breath.
But anyway, I'll agree to tone down the anti-Kerry stuff if you work on your tone:
"they themselves are so Pure"
- Since when is "pure" an insult. Are you projecting some sort of guilt...maybe you don't believe yourself to be so pure or whatever? All humans are pure if we search within ourselves long enough. Why would you try to insult someone by calling him pure? How does that help your cause?
"the fanatics won't listen"
Listen to who? Why should I listen to or obey you? Why do you think your opinion is so much more correct and that it must be "listened to?"
"the ones who are passionate about issues but REASONABLE."
Define reasonable.
