WP: Obama Endorsed by Anti-War Group MoveOn.org
Edited on Sat Feb-02-08 12:42 AM by usregimechange
The liberal activist group MoveOn.org has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for president after a lopsided vote of the group's membership.

The group issued a press release saying its membership in Super Tuesday states numbers over 1.7 million members, and it vowed to mobilize those members on Obama's behalf.

In a statement posted on the group's web site, Eli Pariser, MoveOn.org's Executive Director, called the endorsement a "clear call for a new America at this critical moment in history....The enormity of the challenges require someone who knows how to inspire millions to get involved to change the direction of our country, and someone who will be willing to change business as usual in Washington. Senator Barack Obama has proved he can and will be that President."

Would Clinton supporters attack FDR, JFK, MLK, and Justice Stevens if they endorsed Obama? The DU I remember would emphatically spank such behavior.

3. Honestly, if they're going to do it - it's better now than in the middle of a GE run.
It will be old news by the majority come that time. Republicans like fresh meat to chew on.

2. "the DU I remember"
Seems to not apply in GDP. In here, it's like Watching Groundhog Day in hyper-spin mode.

4. It was an absurd endorsement (getting votes!) and they showed me how amateurish they are
They had to have known it would come out Obama. Eli is just stroking his fucking ego on this one. I am off their list - they'll never get a dime from me.

6. Did Obama accept or was MoveOn trying to grab his limelight?
Hard to believe Obama would accept. Hard to get more divisive and polarizing than MoveOn.
