KOS on Shriver: This is now top-of-the-fold news in every California newspaper tomorrow

Holy shit, that was unexpected. At the big rally at UCLA with Michelle Obama, Oprah, and Caroline Kennedy, Maria Shriver just unexpectedly showed up to endorse Obama.

I wonder how Ahnold took that.

Update: Keep in mind, this is now top-of-the-fold news in every California newspaper tomorrow, it will lead every newscast. And it should push into Tuesday as the governor is forced to answer questions about it.

Well played, Obama campaign. Well played.

Update II: Shriver just said that she decided this morning to speak. It wasn't planned. So maybe it wasn't well played by the Obama campaign. Maybe they just got damn lucky.

1. Arnold's wife? Unexpected? You're kidding me.
She's a good friend of Oprah's. You don't know that? Oprah had them both on her show. Gave Arnold a big boost in California.

That Oprah is such a fine, fine judge of character. She thought george w. bush was "all that," too.

17. That's a strange retort.
Oprah was instrumental in getting Arnold elected. Deal with it.

18. You guys are so thin-skinned. Barack really inspires you.
Juvenile comebacks to facts. Maria and Oprah are friends. Got it? Good.

12. if it's any consolation, it's rumored that Bill Richardson has officially
endorsed HRC. Can't people just be happy for one another? There's no need to crap all over what is supposed to be an Obama supporter celebratory thread. HRC's supporter hate list just keeps growing. They have methodically ripped to shreds anyone who has come out in support of Sen Obama. I'll try to be happy for HRC's Richardson endorsement, you try to be happy for Obama's Shriver endorsement...okay?

13. that's twice I've seen this 'rumor' but no official report
and weird since he made it clear he wouldn't endorse on Friday (Maybe Big Dog IS that persuasive )

16. I figured that's what was going on this weekend...Big Dog's doing
some arm twisting, and making some really big promises to Richardson. Some DU'ers think the big announcement may be coming from the Edwards camp. Sure, I would be disappointed if JRE endorsed HRC, but I won't hate him for it, or rip him to shreds.

22. I wouldn't be mad either - and the only reason Richardson's endorsement
would irk me is that he just said he wouldn't - why say it if you're going to?

26. Yes, good thinking -- and going further: isn't that REALLY odd?
One must really wonder where swarms of people, falling over themselves to trash not only Obama but a huge number of leading Democrats who support him (you don't see anyone for Obama going after, say, Dolores Huerta, who I admire, though disagree with in this election -- but the swarms of Obama haters are ALL OVER THE PLACE).

To paraphrase the original Sanskrit -- Dorothy, this isn't Kansas.

6. She said that she was dressed to go with her daughter to a horse event...
And that she didn't even have make-up on ~ sounds pretty last minute, but who knows?! Still, it was great, and definitely a BIG STORY for tomorrow's papers!

is now persona non among the Clinton-ites? I guess now they'll all have to move out of California with Arnold for McCain and Maria for Obama

14. it's true, they have now turned on KO ferchrrisakes....
Rachel Maddow, Oprah, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Ben Affleck, Ethel Kennedy...just to name a few. The closer Obama gets in the polls, so grows the venom toward him and anyone who publicly supports him. It's amazing.

20. Broadbrush much?
I think Maddow is great, always have. Oprah, feh. Ted Kennedy? Not so much. Kerry? Pathetic, folded like a cheap suit after the election. What happened to that money that came pouring in when he asked for donations to fight the results? Ben Affleck? He's an actor, isn't he? Can't tell you what movies he's been in. Ethel Kennedy, great respect for her. Keith Olbermann? Seems like a nice guy but tends to engage in hyperbole and dramatics with his "special comments."

Did I leave anyone out that you think I'm supposed to be venomous toward since I support Hillary?
