Obama Supporters: As Tuesday approaches, A Chorus of Cynics rises up and says No We Can't |
|
They are growing louder and more dissonant, even here at DU.
We are being asked to pause for a reality check, by many here at DU.
Many here at DU are telling us that we are spreading false hope.
What shall we say to them?
America is not about false hope.
We will heal this nation.
We will repair this world.
What do we have to say those cynics?

11. One of the loudest and most desperate of Cynics in the Choir |
|
Pssst... in choirs, many voices are supposed to blend together. Yours sticks out like a screeching crow.

5. "Yes we can" is not a policy |
|
More of a platitude. Show me the substance; I'd think by now that would be fairly easy.

12. Go to his website. His policies are posted there. Fear not to seek the truth. |
|
I've already posted here his plans on combatting poverty and on his foreign policy. There is a great deal of substance to his solutions.

8. I would rather hear about the tough realities and real detailed plans on how to change things |
|
"Hope and change" and "yes we can" are nothing but words. I want to know exactly what he will do to back those things up.
I've fallen for the "Hope and change" and "yes we can" thing before just to end up realizing that, unless the person can make things happen, then you are left swimming in place.
What anyone else thinks doesn't matter. He is a good Candidate. Both of them are good Candidates. I do not trust he can do the job. Other people do not trust that Hillary can or will do it. We all have differing opinions drawn from different experiences.
Support and fight for what you believe. That is what the process is all about.

14. The OP asked "What can we do"- I gave my opinion on that |
|
More detail on how. More specifics. That is how to reach the people the OP talks about.
But NM.....you don't want to hear it, right?
I am telling you why I went to Hillary after Edwards dropped out instead of Obama.

9. Yes we can...what? Change? That isn't hard. Even McCain will |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 11:35 AM by Dhalgren
be a "change". Change what? From what to what? How? Why do you want the change? Change for change's sake is a suckers bet. Making nice with the Republican thugs who have killed, stolen, mugged, raped, and robbed for ten years? No thanks.
"Fired up! Ready to bend over!" Keep it...

15. There is absolutely no indication that Obama's remedy has any merit. |
|
or has any factual basis. I'd say there was something to it if they could have passed SCHIP, they can't even do that. BTW, how did Obama vote on SCHIP?
