Environmental Leaders Backing Obama for President

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- One hundred environmental leaders have thrown their support behind one presidential candidate.
Co-director of the Berkely Insititute of the Environment, Dan Kammen and dozens of other environmental leaders are supporting Barack Obama for President. Kammen admits there is very little difference in policy between Obama and Clinton.

”Only Clinton and Obama are left on the democratic side, and they could both do it, but at this point, Obama is capturing more of that excitement, that young, change-the-world aspect. I think that’s an intangible that we’re going to need,” said Kammen.

Purely from an environmental standpoint, Kammen says there is one republican candidate he wouldn’t mind in the White House.

”I happen to disagree with him on a number of issues in terms of the war, and the value of the troop surge, but on the environment, McCain has been a real leader,” said Kammen.

Mccain has alienated some in his party with his views on climate change.
