82. Yes, she did..
We had people here for Super Tuesday who watched Hillary on Hallmark amid the wine and chips. She made a great impression on people who were Voting in MA today and who ended up pledging to vote for her here in March.. Her presentation was GREAT!

52. I will say something nice....
It was a good idea for her to do this and it looks like it was really well done.

Regardless of my agreement or disagreement with these candidates I have to compliment all of them on how hard they are working. I would be exhausted with all the events they have. I would be grumpy, get pissed and just yell at people. They stick with and keep working for it.

At this point I support Obama but I think the battle between them has been so hard fought that the winner between them will be very ready to kick some Repug ass come November :-).

She was more substantive than I've seen in this campaign so far. She had a little more time than in the debates and she did a great job.

Were the questions selected? Yes, of course. There were 50,000 questions submitted. She couldn't answer them all.

the bush events which were and are still (for those he still has) all controlled ... oh, she is spilling out the media beans as they were used on the bush boy to keep him gloriously afloat.

in this case, she is using it to demean a wise and knowledgeable woman ... who could turn out to be our first Madame President of the United States!

Jerk. She thinks she has made it big time and her opinion matters. It doesn't. She hates Hillary just like all the other women reporters because she is a viable Presidential candidate and they are not. She use to write for the globe and now they dressed her up and gave her a make over and she thinks she is wonderful.

That's how it came off to me at first (and intermittently throughout the broadcast). It's just a weird format and I'm not sure it had the intended effect. (Unless it was just to rally her base, in which case I do think that it worked well. Certainly has folks here jumpin'.)

I liked that she was very specific with the questions. The way they were having Town Hall Meetings in NY, San Francisco, and other cities and it was connected to all the other locations and each location asked a question. Bill was in SF, The one in LA had the mayor. Where was Chelsea? And, who was that lady in Chicago?

54. What really was important about this event
is that it gave Hillary a chance to talk for well over an hour on a full range of issues. She didn't have a telepromptor, she wasn't reading a speech. This wasn't a campaign releasing two new 30 second sound bite ads. Hillary spoke about a lot of specifics, like college loans, like national service programs, like standing up for accurate science, and the need for light rail to connect cities, and food security, and firing all those private contractors who have been performing government jobs like a private army. That never happens in campaing commercials. All you get from those are snappy slogans.

...detail into which she delved in discussing those plans-sans teleprompter or script! Amazing woman.

By the way, did you know that someone on Salon.com referenced your beautiful diary entry on why you're for Hillary? I read the piece and agreed with everything in it. Beautifully done, and I thank you for that!

Here's the thread - go read the post by AKA Smith:

http://letters.salon.com/opinion/walsh/election_2008/2008/02/03/oprah_shriver/view/index5.html

Unless more letters posted have moved the page, it should still be on this page in a few mins.

105. I was impressed with that, as well.
Her understanding of the depth and breadth of issues is amazing to me. I don't think anyone else, maybe Biden, has that same understanding.
What some people see as triangulating, I see as a nuanced understanding of the issues and looking at them from all sides to reach the best decision. I can relate to that. I'm a "shades of gray" person; not into black and white thinking. I try to see all sides of an issue. I'm not saying it makes me better in any way. It just allows me to relate to others who do the same.

I started out supporting Edwards. I really wasn't pro or anti-Hillary at the start, but as I listened to her in the debates, she won me over and that surprised me. Going into the primaries, I really hadn't considered voting for her.

I liked the interaction with Chelsea, too. It seemed spontaneous and showed the affection they have for each other. She does well in the smaller, more intimate settings. This was great idea by the campaign.

Hallmark cut it off at 9:59 on the dot! I was so mad! But it was great, I loved it!

She did a great job.

Tonight I did something different. I tried to find something WRONG with her. I looked to pick holes, find something I could use to change my mid. Seriously.

And I couldnt find anything.

59. Yes, I can see her as President
I can't see Obama there. I'm sorry; I don't hate the guy, but I just can't.

As for the "likeability factor," I like her.

62. Didn't watch it but kudos to HRC for the use of new technology...
... merging TV with Internet, and broadcasting to distributed sites. Very cool.

69. I watched for a while and thought it was great....
but then they *POOF* switched to Walker, Texas Ranger and I almost threw up--I mean the irony.. I was glad to have the ability to watch the rest on her website though. Great idea and well done, HRC!

74. Just voted. Gave my daughter the history of women's right to vote.
She said she caught the existing prejudice from our discussions re: DU "tears" threads.
We pulled the levers together.
I loved to see David Dinkins as one of her delegates. I think I recognized a few more names.

78. Yep, she got a chance to thresh out all the tasks she set out before her....
...and it was so wonderful to hear so many issues and topics I've been concerned about these last seven years get brought up and discussed, including resuscitating the underused, underfunded, supremely efficient railway system (besides the big issues of health care, don't ask/don't tell, international relations, ending the war, etc. etc.).

Brava, Hillary!

83. Yes, it was staged, but that doesn't mean she didn't discuss issues well.
I supported John Edwards, so I watched intently.

Clinton has the advantage in intimate settings like this; Obama has the advantage in speaking to large crowds. It's not an insult to either. I just find that to be their natural styles. Each knows it and uses it to their strengths when planning campaign appearances.

Although they were softball questions, to her credit, they were not on softball issues. It allowed her to give meaningful explanations.

So from the eye of someone independent, I thought it was a good event for her. Staged, yes, but positive.

103. I voted for her

She wasn't in my top list, it felt really weird. My husband voted for her.

Interesting to note that the older population is voting Hillary, as for Obama, they either seem to dislike him or don't know much about him. This is my observation (in my little bubble, elderly population town in MA). Baby boomers seem to be going for Hillary. I don't think there is quite enough involvement yet from the younger population to throw Obama over the top.
