HRC's Blackwater Connections

http://www.thenation.com/blogs/campaignmatters?pid=240313

The PR firm run by Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton's top strategist, has a new client: Blackwater.

Burson and its subsidiaries, as I reported in a profile of Hillary's corporate advisors in May, has represented everyone from union-busters to big tobacco to Ahmad Chalabi. Blackwater represents a new low.

The firm will be tasked with salvaging Blackwater's tattered image and allegedly murderous conduct. But hey, if Burson could set up the National Smokers Alliance on behalf of Philip Morris, which covertly fought anti-smoking initiatives, who knows what they could do for private mercenaries.

...

But her chief strategist remains the head honcho at the company defending them. Penn has never clarified his financial stake at Burson since he joined the Clinton campaign, nor exactly how much business he's still doing. Now might be a good time for a thorough explanation.

Change is on the march!!! Mission Accomplished!!! Get ready for all the change!!!

2. How in the fuck of god's name is this a smear?
Did your campaign memo tell you to refute plain facts with the "smear" card?

Seriously, do your own homework. Tell me somehow Mark Penn is a good guy.

3. Okay this is interesting. Still, I see the connections without understanding the conspiracy.
What do you think the nature of this conspiracy is? If you were to tell it as a story, filling all the details in as a fiction, what would this conspiracy look like?

4. See my other post that goes into a lot more depth about Mark Penn...
Basically Mark Penn is the architect of the DLC, Bill Clinton's, and Hillary Clinton's centrism and triangulation. He's not alone, Clinton's "Whitehouse in Exile" is filled with this kind of guy.

All I'm saying is if Clinton is elected, don't expect much to change at all in any fundamental way. If you are looking for DLC pro-coroporate centrism, status quo, and lobbyists giving the "okey doke" then Penn and Clinton are your kind of people.

As Forrest Gump says, stupid is as stupid does.

Read up on the guy, you'd be amazed he is a long time inner circle guy of the Clintons.

5. Guys cut it out...*From an Obama supporter*
Hillary fans ran unfair attacks about Rezko, we should not stoop to the same level. Penn is an evil guy, but he is just a consultant. I don't think he actually influences policy that much on a personal level, on a strategic level yes, but on a personal level no.

6. That would be a reasonable appeal but for the fact that Penn

IS Hillary's defacto campaign manager. The strategies are his. The DLC is his brainchild.

This is not a Rezko/Whitewater non-issue.

Read up on Penn. I can't understand why any Democrat would get within ten yards of this guy.

EDIT:
And I am NOT an Obama supporter. Nor a Hillary supporter.

8. Oh, good grief.
More guilt by association. The great tactic of the Army/McCarthy hearings. Glad to see the tradition lives on. Wasn't Bobby Kennedy one of the lawyers on McCarthy's team?
