I want change.
And that's why I'm back. And I don't care if you want to jeer and sneer. Because if you do, you're an asshole and why the Republicans hate us.

I was ready to leave, but then I saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjXyqcx-mYY and couldn't stop feeling good about what's possible. Yeah, I know, I guess I'm a fascist or whatever the hell you called me. Well I don't care. I'm enthusiastic, and I'm not going to let you get to me.

Here's what I have to say:

-- Today is election day. Are you going to vote?

No? What, are you saying your vote doesn't matter? Well, that's pretty selfish.

I never agreed with that notion. Basically, you're only saying that you will participate in the political process only if you are the decider. Unless you're making the call alone as to who the President is, you're not going to vote. Fantastic idea.

That's not democracy. People in other countries die to vote, and this country will be lucky if 20% of voters get out and vote tomorrow. Blood was shed for us. Our forefathers died so we could vote.

"But my vote won't matter!" Listen, we are not a nation of individuals. We are a community. It matters what we as a nation say. The pain of others matters. A corporation oppressing its' workers in Detroit affects me, and it affects you. A poor single mom in L.A. who can't get healthcare - that matters to all of us! When a soldier in Iraq dies, that affects all of us! That's a burden we have to carry together.

So get out and vote. My candidate is Obama, and here's why I support him. You can stop reading here if you're an asshole. If you're undecided, an Obama supporter, or a Clinton supporter who has the self-respect to read opposing views and not shout those voices down, keep reading.

- All the experience in the world doesn't do you any good if you've not got judgement. Obama opposed the Iraq war vocally from the start. Hillary Clinton voted for it. Enough said.
- Obama inspires me. And he's inspired millions. When you have the wind at your back, change can happen. And don't tell me that change can't happen.
- Obama has run a positive campaign from coast to coast, from 2007 to now. He has not stooped to race-based attacks or character assassinations. He's not doing push polls, and he's not pandering to crowds just to get their votes. He's just stumping across the country, spreading the message of hope.
- Obama is the only candidate who can beat McCain. If you elect Clinton, you're ceding the middle ground. And you're ceding a future of bipartisanship. Do you really think that the Republicans will work with Hillary?
- There is NO ONE who mobilizes the Republican base like Hillary Clinton. Not even John McCain.
- I support Obama because he brings a new foreign policy to the table. A foreign policy where you talk to the other side, even if you disagree with them. That goes for Republicans and foreign dictators. Even Ronald Reagan met with Gorbachev. That's how we got arms limitation. He's not saying he'll meet with Osama bin Laden. But he's saying, let's talk to those who are opposed to us. We might learn something.
- I support Obama because he has lowered Health Care costs in Illinois. Hillary could not do that in 1994. He can do it.

If you accept the status quo, vote for Senator Clinton. But if you want change - if you hunger for change like I do - get out and vote for Senator Barack Obama.
