Report from Kansas caucus - this is UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I am STILL standing in line waiting to caucus in the most republican county in Kansas. Been here two and a half hours!! There are 5000 people at this caucus location only. Yes I said FIVE THOUSAND. And before tonight I didn't think there even WERE 5000 Democrats in my whole county.

Oh also, we stood in line in the freezing cold and it started raining ICE. But no one left. We just got inside and my feet are frozen but my heart is warm. I have NEVER been so proud to be an American.

Big traffic jam. I'd say the state Democratic Party was unbelievably clueless about what was headed their way.

Great news though.

40. Same thing at another caucus location a few miles away
Cops having to direct traffic and a line that stretched for blocks. And the weather was horrid.

Most of my friends were at the other location and we kept calling each other comparing notes. This was just an absolutely incredible experience. This county is so republican. Or maybe I should say it used to be. :)

26. Here's a pic from my KS caucus.

This was the scene at my caucus in Kansas. Thankfully it was held at a school so everyone was inside for the most part. The line on the right is the line to register as a Democrat so that you could caucus that night. It stretched twice as long in the opposite direction. That line went from one end of the school to the other. The other line for those that were already registered was just as long. That line went down a different wing of the school. It was amazing.

21. I have lived in this neighborhood for over a decade, and I have never seen so much traffic
I am in a fairly quiet suburban neighborhood about ten miles south of Saint Paul, and I have never seen as much traffic as there was outside of the High School where the caucus was being held tonight since I moved here in 1996. The turnout was absolutely incredible, I was fortunate that I was within walking distance because the parking lot filled up long before caucuses began and they ran out of ballots and registration sheets before I got through the line. We had to sign in and cast our ballots on scrap paper, I don't think they expected even half the turnout they got.

34. In Wichita here. I live in a strong Republican State Senate district.
It was chaos there were so many people there--and TONS to register as Dems for the first time. They kept apologizing for the delays--ran out of registration forms and had to scramble to get more copied. They announced that they expected about 300 people to come and the turnout was 850!

36. 2200+ in one Lawrence location
I was at what was apparently the largest caucus in Lawrence. (Of course, our caucus area is the heart of the blue oasis in Kansas. :) ) The party at least had the sense to change locales from the original plan, which would have had us in downtown Lawrence at a place that could hold less than half the number that came. (Unfortunately, they didn't change the other downtown caucus site--they got closed down by the cops (too many people) and had to move.)

Thanks to the location, we had enormous long lines, but they were mostly inside. (basically, the building is a glorified cow barn.) Main problem--besides overflow (it was after 8 before they finished signing everyone in, after a 7:30 deadline) -- was people getting stuck in the mud, having to park in the grass. (Rain all morning into mid-afternoon, snow by the time we finished the caucus.)

The results weren't even close--the Obama group was so huge they didn't even try to count it directly; just counted the other groups, and the remainder was Obama.

41. Update on the count
The cops told us there were at least 5000 people but the final caucus count was 1200. BUT they expected 100 at this location. It took four and a half hours to get everyone in and counted. And it was raining ICE while we waited. WOW. I am just so overwhelmed and so proud to know that my neighbors cared enough to stand in line while it rained ice.
