Ah, now the real counts start coming in. Obama up by 7 delegates so far and climbing |

CNN has updated their delegate counts. Clinton is going down and Obama is on the rise.
Current count:
Obama: 709 (603 earned delegates, 106 super) Clinton: 783 (590 earned delegates, 193 super)
This clearly shows that Obama is winning the election so far and has earned more delegates through the primary election than Clinton has. Given that he's won more states, and she's the "incumbent", I'd call him the leader at this point.

8. In this election, super delegates best not determine outcome. |
|
It will be the death knell to the party. So whomever wins, they best better go with the vote.

4. It'll be back and forth all day, Hillary will get a few more CA delegates later on today. |
|
It's going to be interesting to see the final count, but as the pundits are playing it, it's a "virtual tie."

5. Florida is not in these toatals of course |
|
And maybe they never will be and it can be argued that they never should be, but that was an election also with about 1.5 actual million votes cast, which Clinton won easily. Under typical circumstances Clinton would have picked up a lot of earned delegates there, so in a way that im ny mind offsets the "unearned aspect" of some of her current super delegate lead.

11. CLinton won Alabama delegate count |
|
With 99% of the precincts reporting, Clinton wins 21 delegates and Obama 20. After all the crap Obama supporters wrote about Nevada, you'll have to acknowledge she actually won Alabama. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#AL
