Gore is wildly popular. Why isn't he endorsing Obama?!!! |
|
Because he's politically savvy and doesn't want to throw his weight behind anyone until the GE.

3. Because his main mission right now is Climate Change |
|
And he wants to de-politicize the issue, to get the attention o people on the left, right and center. He's said before that this isn't a political issue, it's a moral issue. And endorsing a candidate would make him (and subsequently the climate issue) more of a political lightning rod.

4. His endorsement last time (for Dean) didn't exactly work out |
|
I think he's learned to hedge his bets. Why alienate the eventual winner by endorsing their opponent?

5. Chances are, Gore may be recruited as a POTUS if there is no |
|
majority on either side of the Hillary/Obama, and it goes to Denver for a brokered convention, and there's a first round stalemate, then all delegates will be released to vote whoemever they chose, and before they do that, Gore enters the fray, and declares himself ready, and the delegates follows.
Just a scenario, but it would be nice, wouldn't it?

6. Gore may be doing the Party a disservice by not endorsing |
|
The Party is almost equally split in this campaign, should he endorse someone he could change the dynamics to favor one candidate, which would ease the concerns over unity going into the convention.
We dont want a fratured convention, it makes the party look weak now that the GOP has mostly settled on their nominee.

9. Because he is wildly smart? |
|
Not everyone is captivated by the hope hype.
What has Obama said he would do anyway? All I have so far is that he would not be W. Wow. How about a little more on details, and a little less mob-mentality cult of personality.

10. He's in a unique situation, having been Bill's VP |
|
I really think he didn't run this time because Hillary did. In many ways, I think there's little love lost between the Clintons and the Gores, but I don't think he's one to burn bridges either. If he doesn't endorse Hillary, I don't think he'll endorse anyone.

He should have run, but now that he hasn't, should not get involved.
