Anecdotal - 3 Republican, highly placed corporate executive women told me at a luncheon today -
that they could be comfortable voting for Obama over McCain. (They all seemed to think that McCain would be the Republican nominee)

I almost fell off of my seat. I would have privately thought that they were all Romney voters. They all three also were in agreement that they would NEVER vote for Hillary.

That these particular women could be considering voting Democratic, I consider to be an earth-tilting-on-its-axis sort of moment.

Obama is reaching people that I previously would have considered highly improbable for the Democratic Party. (These women are BEDROCK Republicans)

I did not participate in the discussion, I was far more interested in listening.

Just one experience out there in the real world.

1. Odd.
I just posted this, got an error message that it didn't post and was about to repost when I saw it way down on the page. Plus, didn't show up in latest. This is my own roundabout way of kicking my own post.;-)

2. When Obama states that Hillary's supporters would vote for him but

that not all his supporters would vote for her, I think he is referring to Republicans and independents like these.

We should consider this: once someone votes for Obama, wouldn't that person be more likely to support an Obama administration's efforts to provide universal health insurance, get the troops out of Iraq, etc.? We not only have to be able to win in November, we have to elect someone who will be able to govern effectively.

4. I think the 2008
general election will include significant cross-over voting.
