Pew Rsrch: Do Blacks and Hispanics Get Along?
Instead of flamebait threads, how about a little social research for the purposes of enlightenment.

-snip
While blacks and Hispanics hold broadly favorable views of each other, Hispanics are less likely to say the two groups get along well. At the same time, African Americans are far more likely than Latinos to say blacks are frequently the victims of racial discrimination, according to a recent survey of racial and ethnic attitudes by the Pew Research Center.

The survey found that overwhelming majorities of both blacks and Hispanics have favorable views of each other. Fully three-quarters of all blacks (77%) have a very or somewhat favorable view of Latinos, while 79% of Hispanics have a similarly positive view of blacks. (Three-quarters of all whites also have an approving view of Hispanics and a slightly larger percentage expressed a favorable opinion of blacks.)

3. Blacks and Hispanics need to unite against their common enemy: The Amish.

No, I'm not serious.

Everyone knows the real threat is Eskimos.

who felt compeled to announce this "historical Facts" right before the Nevada caucus. :eyes:

But the cat is out of the bag, and the democratic race has been discussed only in aspects of race and gender. Thanks Hill campaign! We needed that.

7. I'll talk about Cubans, since I live in Miami.....
I'm going to generalize a little of course, but here you go......

The rich "white" Cubans that lived on the island before Castro took over (they settled in Miami and shaped the city, unfortunately, into a Republican fascist city where if you don't speak like a fascist, you're considered a Communist), were pretty considerable racists, tho not as violent and vitriolic as white Americans were. These rich Cuban whites claimed and claim to be descended from pure white Spaniards (no such thing anyway), but if you'd run a DNA test, you'd have found they had plenty of African blood. Some, all you had to do is look at them, their eyes, hair, etc. and you'd know, but if you were to tell them, they'd probably have called you some rather unattractive names, one popular one of which is a rather severe form of, "poophead." :-)

However, the tiny middle class and lower classes of pre-Castro's Cuba were more admittedly mixed. The tiny middle class really desperately tried to emulate the rich to no avail, so that was that.

There was much less racism in Cuba, pre-Castro, than there was in the U.S., and nowadays in Castro's Cuba there is almost NO racism on the island. The first thing you notice about Cuban blacks in Miami is that, unlike American blacks, they do not have their own accent and dialect separate and distinct from "white" Cubans. Cuban blacks consider themselves Cuban first, and black later. Cuban blacks did live in poverty prior to Castro's takeover, but so did many whites and mulattos. Now everyone pretty much lives the same. However, I've noticed that the Cuban blacks who come here have a really really rough time among Americans. The reason for this is that in Cuba they don't encounter any racism, while here in the U.S. there's plenty of racism to be had from whites.

Nowadays, in Miami, Cuban blacks DO continue to think of themselves primarily as Cuban, they speak Cuban Spanish, live in Cuban areas, cook Cuban food, etc. Cuban blacks are so much a part of the rest of the Cuban community, that you will find Cuban blacks voting along with the rest of the brainwashed Miami Cubans. In other words, they'll vote Republican every time.

That's all. :-)
