Check out the money.
Here is a report for the end of the year 2007 on where the candidates got their money.

http://www.capitaleye.org/inside.asp?ID=335

Both Hillary and Obama got money from all kinds of corporations, so Hillary supporters should stop this crap about her being the candidate of the "grassroots" and the "poor"!

1. What I hear most is that Obama does NOT take money from corps-but I see you yes he does.
It gets real sickening!!

9. Yes, but
It's Hillary that does the same, and now wants to be the candidate with the "grassroots" support that has ran out of money. Go figure!

4. So what is the Solution?
Should candidates block contributions from employees of certain companies? If I work for a company like ExxonMobil and I like Obama's message how else can I show my support? I'm just curious how we solve this since the money isn't coming from lobbyist, but rather individuals right?

6. Nobody is saying Hillary is funded by the poor
Just that her support is, on average, lower class, lower money and lower educated.

The narrowness of her cash base is trumpeted as proof she has no popular support, but she and Obama keep getting the same number of votes. It's not that her supporters are indiffrent... they are actually even more committed than Obama's average voter. So why don't they pony up the bucks? Because they don't have it to give... her average voters have little disposable income. Hence her relative over-reliance on a small number of wealthy donors (who are now maxed out)

Obama has a lot of rank-and-file supporters who can donate $500 on the internet without missing it.

Many of Hillary's rank-and-file voters wouldn't know the internet if it bit them, and have very little disposable income. There's a financial down-side to having old widows on fixed incomes and working class single mothers as your base.

8. this is the biggest fabrication about politics
if my mom, who is a nurse, donates $50 to Hillary, that goes down as support from the "Health Care Industry."

if I, back in 2004, when I worked at Wal-Mart as a cashier, donated $50 to Kerry, that goes down as support from "Walmart."

People donate. Corporations don't.

A building can't sign a check.
