20. No, people who had the opportunity to get credentialized in life
from our increasingly expensive institutes of learning voted for Obama. Those numbers do mean something though: they merely confirm the fact that the higher your socio/economic class, the more chance there is you will vote for Obama. To put it simply, rich people are for Obama, poor people are for Clinton. Now, which candidate should get the nomination of the Party? (The Democratic Party, that is.)

This is what the Repubs are going to push as a negative against Obama in the GE if he wins. Kerry won the College Educated over 100k crowd so they know they have lost that demo.

A couple of quotes for you:

"Sick people go the the Hospital, Dumb people go to College"

"I was shocked to find so many smart uneducated people after joining the workforce with a MBA".

68. If Edwards had had the numbers...
...I would have laid down life and limb for him. He's miserably slow to get in on LGBT issues, but Eliz and Cate would have totally kicked his ass into line well within his first term. I wanted to work with John-O, but he caved. He fucking caved, as sure as Kerry caved the morning after the '04 sElection, when he didn't have to!

Left with the absolute last two Dem candidates on my list, I'm forced to back Hillary, and do my goddammnest to get excited about what I do know she will fix -- as opposed to all this vague, fuzzy, Kumbaya bullshit from the Obama camp.

I hope you re-think your Obama support. If he gets the Dem nom (God forbid), the GOP machine is going to chew him up and spit him out like we have never seen.

You want a Dem to take the White House, you go with one who's taken this shit from the right-wing smear machine since before Barry was in diapers, and thrown it back in their faces, over and over and over again.

You want Barry? You wait 'til 2016, 2020, 'til he's more seasoned.

I speak as one who is EXACTLY Obama's age: Had he been raised in California, we could have gone to high school together, and we'd have been in the same graduating class. I know a LOT of spoiled, privileged, overambitious Barrys, and he IS NOT ready to LEAD.

67. That's an unfair characterization.
Education is not necessarily a measure of intelligence. I've known plenty of smart, poorly educated people, and more than a couple stupid, well educated people.

I think the breakdown is more accurately

Lazy people support Hillary.
Ambitious, hard-working people support Obama.

THAT, at least, seems to be supported by the lazy arguments that are thrown out by Hillary supporters, and their disdain for working through the criticisms of her.

Since I am a visual person I fixed your data to help make it more legible as you can see your FAUX data is not at all what you were implying. Nice try though.

complex math problems, etc. but it doesn't necessarily give you common sense. Likewise, not educated---having only a high school degree doesn't necessarily make a person dumb.

I would venture to guess that a lot of parents of DU'ers are or were "uneducated." Mine were. My mom was one of those uneducated people you mention. She never even got to high school because her dad died when she was 16. This was in the depression era. She and her two older brothers dropped out of school to support my grandmother and their younger siblings. My mom became a seamstress. Until very late in her life she could look at a picture in a magazine and reproduce the most intricate dress, including wedding dresses..without a pattern. And she raised 5 kids keeping a tight budget and managing to save. Although my parents didn't make a lot of money, we never knew it because we wanted for nothing.

Look around you at the monuments, highways, bridges. Blue collar "not smart people" did that. And although sadly disappearing, it was "not so smart" people working in factories that fired up the economy in this country for years.

Oh, I am a college educated Clinton supporter. Thanks to my not so smart parents I became the first one in my generation to get a college degree.

Be careful about how you promote your candidate. As a reminder, the Democratic party is supposed to be the party of inclusion, not class division. I am not thrilled at all with Mr. Obama. And posts such as yours won't help me get any enthusiasm should he become the nominee.

Obama Revealed in Rezko Corruption Investigation

Bumped and updated: Obama is trying to distance himself Rezko by divesting himself (again) of tainted money.

Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama said Saturday that his campaign would give charities $40,350 in donations linked to his former friend and fundraiser Tony Rezko, a Chicago businessman who has pleaded not guilty to federal influence-peddling and bank fraud charges.
Obama already has divested more than $44,000 in Rezko-affiliated donations during the last year. But Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said the campaign made a comprehensive review of donations affiliated with Rezko and "found some we'd feel more comfortable not having."

Obama Revealed in Rezko Corruption Investigation
Originally published: Jan 19, 08 01:00 PM

The Chicago Sun-Times released a scathing article this morning titled "Obama surfaces in Rekzo's federal corruption case" which for the first time ties Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama into a federal corruption investigation of Obama's longtime supporter and fundraiser Tony Rezko.

The allegations against Rezko that involve Obama are contained in one paragraph of a 78-page document filed last month in which prosecutors outline their corruption and fraud case against Rezko, who was also a key money man for Gov. Blagojevich and other politicians.
Rezko is set to go to trial Feb. 25. The revelation that Obama's name could come up in court is a political headache he doesn't need as he heads into a round of primaries that are likely to determine his party's nomination for president.

Obama is not named in the Dec. 21 court document. But a source familiar with the case confirmed that Obama is the unnamed "political candidate" referred to in a section of the document that accuses Rezko of orchestrating a scheme in which a firm hired to handle state teacher pension investments first had to pay $250,000 in "sham" finder's fees. From that money, $10,000 was donated to Obama's successful run for the Senate in the name of a Rezko business associate, according to the court filing and the source.

Rezko, who was part of Obama's senatorial finance committee, also is accused of directing "at least one other individual" to donate money to Obama and then reimbursing that individual -- in possible violation of federal election law.

If you aren't familiar with Obama's other ties with Rezko not to worry, there's lots of information out there, including favors extended to Obama by Rezko surrounding the Obama purchase of Illinois real estate.

In June 2005, Obama and Rezko purchased adjoining parcels in Kenwood. The state's junior senator paid $1.65 million for a Georgian revival mansion, while Rezko paid $625,000 for the adjacent, undeveloped lot. Both closed on their properties on the same day.
Obama's dealings with Rezko buy a parcel of questions Sweet blog: '08 hopeful in Iowa again. State worker puts up home for Rezko bail Blagojevich: I don't recall Rezko list
Last January, aiming to increase the size of his sideyard, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.

The transaction occurred at a time when it was widely known Tony Rezko was under investigation by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and as other Illinois politicians befriended by Rezko distanced themselves from him.

In the Sun-Times interview, Obama acknowledged approaching Rezko about the two properties being up for sale and that Rezko developed an immediate interest. Obama did not explain why he reached out to Rezko given the developer's growing problems.

Last month, Rezko was indicted for his role in an alleged pay-to-play scheme designed to fatten Gov. Blagojevich's political fund. Rezko also was accused of bilking a creditor.

But there's more. Here's another skeleton in the Obama closet, this from December, 2006:

In addition to a land deal, Sen. Barack Obama's ties to indicted dealmaker Antoin "Tony" Rezko include an internship the senator provided the son of a contributor at the request of Rezko, an Obama spokesman confirmed today.
John Aramanda served as an intern for Obama for about a month in 2005, said Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs. His father is Joseph Aramanda, a Rezko business associate who was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal corruption case against Rezko. Aramanda has contributed $11,500 to Obama since 2000, Gibbs said.

"Mr. Rezko did provide a recommendation for John Aramanda," Gibbs said. "I think that it's fairly obvious that a few-week internship is not of anything of benefit to Mr. Rezko or any of his businesses."

The revelation of the internship comes after Obama acknowledged a mistake in buying property from Rezko in January 2006 -- a deal that enlarged the senator's yard in the Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side. The transaction occurred at a time when it was widely known Rezko was under investigation by the U.S. attorney's office.

"It was a mistake to have been engaged with him at all in this or any other personal business dealing that would allow him, or anyone else, to believe that he had done me a favor," Obama -- a likely presidential candidate -- told the Sun-Times in November.

97. And here I thought ALL Democrats were smart because they weren't voting Republican.
Guess I learn something new every day. You realize that there
are better ways to advocate for your candidate than by
antagonizing Senator Clinton's supporters. Yes, I fully
realize not all Obama supporters are obnoxious and some
Clinton supporters are, especially on this board. I have a
hard time believing people would be so negative in person, but
maybe I'm being naive. We're supposed to be coming together
to beat the Republican candidate in November, not tearing each
other apart limb by limb, rhetorically speaking of course. I
wish everyone could just sit back, take a deep breath, and try
to treat each other with a little more civility.

I am SMART enough to suspect your agenda.
Others have made clear that smart does not equal education, and told you what to do with your BS with the venom you deserve.
You are disrupting poorly.

Hillary supporters, Obama supporters, Edwards supporters holding on - support your candidates! You are ALL fellow dems and have my respect, no matter your choice.

Childish asses of all persuasions, having fun making the two main camps hate each other - we are watching you.
Those of you who take one asshole's taunt and take offense are right to do so, but if you take that and claim that it is ALL supporters or the candidate that is responsible - well that is stupid and plays right into the freepers' hands.

Please, do NOT keep amping it up - it just feeds their sense of accomplishment.

Oh, and to all of you saying in effect "I'm a Hillary supporter and I have X degrees and make THIS much money, so there" -- you really don't get it. This is like some ass who uses "gay, fat, butch or whatever" as an insult and you say " I am NOT that, so there" -- I have to explain that to the "Mann Coulter, HAHA" crowd, the "I bet I make more money than YOU, jerk" crowd, and so on.

It just adds insult to insult, and in a way it accepts the premise.
It is all quite ugly.
I almost want to join one of the candidate's posses - or maybe 3 days a week of each - just to smack down those in my own "camp"...
Maybe the smartest long-time DUers in EACH camp could start "policing" their own, the rest of us just SHUN them. I am almost sorry I came into this thread, much less added to it here. But I am just as sure that most Obama supporters are turned off by this as I am most Clinton supporters don't believe the "cult" BS - but they are mostly silent or don't even come into the mudpit. Who can blame them?

Argue tax policy or energy or something for gods' sake.
This is fucking kidergarten.
