Operation Desperate
In the past two days, I have heard/read Obama supporters accuse Clinton supporters of being "desperate" AT LEAST fifty times.

Even for the most trivial of reasons, or no reason at all. "Hillary is desperate ... Hilbots are desperate ... desperate ... desperate... desperate... desperate." (Yes, that mechanically.)

It's a very odd way of describing a campaign concern that may not even exist. And I certainly don't feel very desperate. Do YOU, fellow Hilbots?

Yet the accusation persists. Do you think it might be a kind of projection?

Was there a memo from Obama HQ directing that to be used as a talking point?

--p!

4. I am fucking desperate.
Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 12:28 AM by lvx35
Because that's how working class people in this country live, in a state of quiet desperation. The majority of Hillary's supporters, I just learned, are under 6 figures like me. The majority of Obama supporters live about 6 figures, so they are truly probably not desperate, I'll give them that. Hearing them mock my state of barely getting by throwing money around and mocking Hillary for not having enough is truly disgusting. I was such a fucking fool for thinking that SHE was the corporate candidate.

edit: The poll, posted by Obama supporters to demean Hillary's working class supporters as uneducated and stupid:

16. Well I really doubt it.
After all, I'm a 69 yr. young Grandma, who lives on $1,200. a month S.S. AND I LOVE OBAMA !! I'm an Obama Mamma, and I'm also of the caucasion persuasion. You can't shame this Mamma into voting for Hil just because she's a woman and Bills wife! I think all of you Hilbots wouldn't find her so appealing if Bill wasn't part of the package!! Just my opinion.

24. She is, thats WHY she is out of money
she tapped out all the corporations, they can't give anymore and she doesn't have a wide base of supporters that make the small regular contributions.

Check the financial records before you go off on your uninformed tangent. The majority of middle class Americans make less than 6 figures.

Do your research before you speak, so you don't sound like the fool you claim to be.

25. distortion
to say that Hillary is the candidate of the working class vs Obama --is a gross distortion.

Hillary does seem to have a following among lower income people, esp women who vote Dem, but she has plenty of support from the more well off. And "the majority" of Obama supporters are not "6 figures," I'd be willing to bet. All those younger folks? Really? Not the ones I know. None of the people I know supporting Obama make anywhere near 6 figures, in fact.

I seriously doubt that Barack Obama considers working class people uneducated and stupid.

The champion of the less educated and less wealthy in this campaign year is obviously John Edwards. But it doesn't mean that Obama lacks concern for them or that Hillary has suddenly become the poor person's
only choice.

Why do you buy such nonsense?

29. Isn't that what we do here?
Thow nonsense around? Seriously I'm just trying to get in on the fun!!! I've arguing cautious researched points here for ever and the nonsense just keeps flying and flying. I want a piece of the action.

Look, you're right. Obama is a fine choice for the working class. I am just going in insane here. I used to come here religiously for all the smart opinions and news, but the infighting is literally driving me insane. I've got to get out of here until after the nomination. Sorry to have offended. Peace.

33. the whole political process
Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 04:00 AM by marions ghost
as it's now defined is driving me insane. DU only reflects the circus that our "elections" have become.

We're all struggling for information on which to base the most important decisions of our lives now. WE --voters/pigs at the end of the trough --are the ones who are the most desperate. Distortions and inaccuracies taking root so quickly make it hard to know what is real.

After this grotesque tragedy of a presidential term we have recently suffered through, I guess people have finally waked up to the fact that they better pay attention to who actually gets s/elected.

Peace.

9. A campiagn that has lost a considerable lead and has run out of money
should be desperate. The Clinton campaign has hit the wall and the Obama campaign is gaining more and more support.

If the Clinton campaign is not desperate, they're crazy.

Geography must not be your strongest subject.

There is an old saying that comes to mind: "Either say nothing and let people think you are stupid or say something and remove all doubt."

Congrats on the latter.

15. but in the end what did she really gain? formerly paid staffers becoming
volunteers? injecting "dubious" funds into her own cash strapped campaign? "desperate" for four more debates so she can keep her mug on tv for free? I don't know that you should ROTFL, as much as you should be standing on the corner with a tin can collecting $$$$ for the campaign?

14. Desperate ?? O just hit $6,168,247. since the polls closed yesterday
over 6 million $$ in 29 hours from average working class Americans donating $200 or less for the most part.

If that is desperate it is a damn good way to go

ah, well, all in a day's work

He is paying his staff too by the way.

Now how does that work for HIllary, help for the working class but ask them to work for no pay... hmmmmm, No.
Maybe that isn't desperate to you, just they way she saves money, at some one else's expense.

Hey, why don't you quit your job and go volunteer for her?

It's all projection.... i.e., she's corrupt, she'll never win the general election, Republicans will drop loads of dirt on her if she's the nominee...all of it, every single bit.
