African-American.

Male.

29 years old.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Two years college.

Caucasian-American.

Female.

21 years old.

Born in Germany to American parents -- father military.

Liberal Democrats who lean moderate.

Former Edwards supporters.

A soldier in the US Army from 1999-2004.

A stay-at-home mother by choice.

Never went to Iraq.

Have lost approximately 3 FRIENDS who died in George W. Bush's war.

Have participated in anti-war rallies in support of troops.

Her father retired from the military in 2002 to North Carolina.

Argue with conservative Republicans daily.

Supporting Hillary Clinton for president.

According to all the polling data, are we not statistically improbable?

They say that Hillary Clinton doesn't appeal to young voters or African-Americans. They say that Hillary Clinton appeals to women mostly in their mid-30s and those over 65. They say that she appeals mostly to blue-collar workers. I'm clearly not that, as I work in new media as a web and multimedia developer. I'm a new father -- my son is still wet behind-the-ears. My wife: 21 years old, a young mother, and Caucasian. She has rheumatoid arthritis. I cannot purchase health insurance for her. She supports Hillary Clinton because of her stance on women and children's issues, and, yes, health care as well.

Hillary Clinton inspires my wife and I because we believe she has clear ideas, and, better yet, she has a road map for getting us where we need to go. Not pontifications of "hope and change," while lacking in plans to take care of all Americans -- people like my wife who would more likely not be covered under his health care plan because of a pre-existing condition. We don't like that his campaign is engaging in dirty Republican tricks. We don't like that Michelle Obama had to try to back-pedal on supporting Hillary Clinton (should she win the nomination) after saying she'd "have to think about it."

So, make no mistake. My wife and I support Hillary Clinton. We support her as enthusiastically and pragmatically as Obama supporters support their candidate of choice.

EDIT TO ADD: "... as Obama supporters support their candidate of choice."

3. Thank you.
I am surprised those who trumpet the polls -- like Zogby -- are not in here discussing this issue.

4. she still has strong support from you and your wife's demographics

so no, you are not really statistically improbable. Those are just generalizations of trends you are talking about.

I'd say African American Males are about 1/5 to 1/8 for Hillary(which while a smallish fraction, adds up to hundreds of thousands), young white females, 4/10 - 5/10.

I'm in the demographic that is supposed to be for Hillary, and I support Obama.

8. By that account
I should be a Republican.

White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (raised anyway), Male, 6 figure income, Southerner, 30 years old, no post-graduate degree, not a member of a labor union. I can't really think of a demographic profile I fit into that trends Democratic, excluding the self selecting types like "very liberal" etc.

9. Precisely.
This data the media tries to push on us as to who is likely to support a candidate based on demographics is absolute hogwash.
