Why do conservatives hate McCain so much - a partial list |
|
Senator McCain’s Liberal Record
1. Amnesty = McCain / Kennedy (D) 2. Censorship = McCain / Feingold (D) 3. Gas Tax Increase = McCain / Lieberman (D) 4. McCain’s Proposed Democrat Ticket = Kerry / McCain (D) 5. Turncoats Who Asked to Switch Parties: McCain / Jeffords (D) 6. McCain’s American Conservative Union Rank= 47th / 100 = RINO 7. New York Times (D) Endorsed: McCain 8. Opposed Bush Tax Cuts = McCain + (All Ds) 9. McCain wants to keep the Death Tax 10. McCain wants to raise Social Security Taxes 11. McCain / ACLU (D) is Pro-Terrorist Rights 12. McCain/Kennedy(D)/Edwards(D) Tobacco = Trial Lawyers Dream Act
The number #1 reason, Amnesty seems to be the big one. Republicans blame the influx of Latinos for flipping a reliable Red State, California, Blue. They fear the whole south is a risk.
And number #2 - McCain / Feingold - limiting their access to big money.
They spin those two alone to signaling the end of the GOP, and McCain as a traitor.

Independents love him. And Honestly I don't hate him..I won't vote for him and I hate his Iraq stance. I do respect his sacrifice for this nation If he gets the nod hate radio will change it's tone and start selling him differently.

He is going to be the hardest repuke to beat out of their whole crowd of runners. The divisive air in the Dem camp leaves undecided voters ripe for the picking in a general election. Out of all the repukes that campaigned, McCain is the Only one I have one iota of respect for. You can already begin to see the shift, be it small at this time, of the conservative base coming around to McCain support. The repubs have always been better at this than the Dems, falling in line en masse to support their nominee. The animosity between the Hillary and Obama supporters in the primaries will leave massive fall-out when our nominee is picked. Again, there will be votes ripe for the picking for McCain.

3. so much of US politics is hype. |

McCain when he wanted to take on George Bush's religious dogma, spoke out against the likes of Falwell. Once the GOP became dominated by the likes of Fallwell, McCain felt comfortable with a Fallwell hug. Positions change with the political winds, yet social conservatives have the memory of an elephant.
