Will Obama's big endorsements help with superdelegates? |
|
It's unclear how much Obama's big endorsements from Kennedy, McCaskill, etc helped with the voters, but is it not true that they are in a position to help get superdelegates on his side? If I'm an undecided Democratic superdelegate in Mass. and my state's two Senators call me up and ask me to support Obama, I might have a hard time telling them "no," even though my state went to Hillary.
The superdelegate process is undemocratic, but it's a mistake to think that Clinton is the only one with a "machine" - Obama is developing a bigger one each day with each passing nomination he receives.

1. I think Obama's huge enthusiastic crowd of new, moderate and indie voters might sway them |

along with possibility of coattails down ticket, even in purple states, maybe even in some red states.

2. They are helping Obama NATIONALLY. That's why Clinton spinners went into overdrive trying |
|
to act as if her win in Mass was ENORMOUS, when she ws actually up by 40% at one point there and Obama was able to close the gap considerably with Kennedy and Kerry's efforts there - but their REAL CACHE was nationally exposing a TRUST FACTOR for Obama with the progressive wing of the party that cares a great deal for SMART national security that can be tough when nexessary.
