When it first happened I was newly resident in Thailand and could barely communicate in Thai. So many people came up and asked me to explain what was happening I was completely at a loss to explain it and ended up just telling people I was Canadian and we could never figure out what those crazy Americans were doing.

Fast forward 30 years and I am travelling as a consultant in San Diego and my Thai wife calls me at night and asks me how I was doing, curious about the tone in her voice she said turn on the TV because the "white people" were killing themselves again and she was worried that I might get some contagious virus lol. It was the 'Heaven's Gates' folks taking off for parts unknown who were coincidentally just up the street from where I was staying.

78. As a Canadian I literally have no dog in this "fight" but I

think both candidates (Obama and Clinton) are super presidential material. I think all eight of the initial candidates were great and so I find posts like this sophomoric at best and inflammatory at worst. Democrats should be proud of each and every candidate who was proffered to run your country, and fix what will be one hell of a royal bloody mess. JMO.
