If one year ago you told me that the top choices for the repuke party were McCain & Huckabee.... |
|
....I'd demand you get drug tested for smoking crack!
I can't believe Rommey just dropped out. It's almost like the republicans are handing the White House back to us because McCain and Huckabee are just too out there to be qualified as president. Without a doubt McCain's age will play into the race (along with the million years in Iraq). And Huckabee is just way too tied into the fundie sect to appeal to moderate voters.

10. As soon as they slip Bush around McCain, he'll drop like a rock ... and Huckabee is a joke |
|
Either of our candidates will beat them soundly.

2. If he weren't Mormon, I believe Romney would be the nominee right now. |
|
I must admit, I underestimated the bigotry of the evangelical base. They couldn't bring themselves to vote for the "heretic."
I know, stupid me. This is the last time I make that mistake.

5. He really came out like the most normal one of the group |
|
Which shocks me that he's dropping out.
I figured he'd hold out a bit to see if he could get VP with McCain. The convention should be interesting but I don't have a stomach to watch that show!

9. Romney has never seemed normal to me in any sense ... he's the vision of a psychopath |
|
Too plastic, too smiley, too impossible to pin down, lots of skeletons ... he's the least attractive candidate for a ton of reasons.

he didn't want to be a part of aiding a surrender to terror

7. Kinda like Bob Dole in 96 |
|
I swear they gave that race away. Clinton's popularity didn't grow until after 96. I think with the right candidate they could have taken back the White House. But then again, I still believe that the Reaganites in the party were investing their time and money to have one of the Bushes run for office and 1996 was too early for either to be ready. George was only in office for 2 years and they hadn't claimed Florida yet (that was 98 that Jeb won)

13. Exactly like Dole. Jeb also got too dirty too fast out in Florida. |

He seems to be pretty much rehabilitated now, though. :scared:
