I see only Obama stickers here in Washington... We caucus in 2 days |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 02:39 PM by FlyingSquirrel
I don't know about these polls that show HRC winning but I sure am not seeing any bumper stickers or signs. And I drive a bus so I'm out in it all day. The Obama stickers have been popping up over the last week or so mainly, although I did see a few before then.
Also I'm in a densely populated part of the state (more blue, in other words). I'm sure Obama's kicking butt in the red parts of the state - don't see how Hillary could be doing so well if I don't see any signs or stickers.
But maybe that's just me. Nobody's done a poll here since last October. I gotta figure Obama's gonna get a lot of the 78 delegates from this state though. Maybe as many as 48.
I notice they will both be in Seattle, and then Hillary "might" also campaign in Spokane (east side of the state) whereas Michelle Obama will definitely be in Spokane the same time Obama's in Seattle tomorrow. Good stuff

1. Murray and Cantwell endorsed Hillary |
|
What kind of support are they going to be able to turn out?? I'm worried that it is happening under the radar.

Of course who else were they going to endorse (seriously)? Cantwell's endorsement doesn't mean much. Murray's means a little more, she is pretty popular.

12. It's their workers that matter |
|
The people who help them get elected who may be using that organization to get people ready to caucus for Hillary. I wish we had that info.
BTW, Obama is going to be in Seattle tomorrow, did you know that?

Tomorrow, doors open at 11. I forget the locale. I was thinking of driving up, but I'd probably have to leave tonight in order to get in line early enough to get in. I think I'll wait and hope for a humongo event in Oregon in May.

5. It was similar in Northern California last week... |
|
...it really was "all Obama, all the time" for about 2 weeks before Super Tuesday, both in the media and in bumper stickers, street and overpass demonstrations, and random banners hung in highly visable areas. I thought for sure he would win by a landslide. I was surprised that he did not.

8. California also had all those people vote early. You wont see that in Washington. |

7. Obama does very well in caucus states. He's not so hot in some primary contests. |
|
Caucus states depend on organization, and the popular sentiment is far less important. They're by their nature disenfranchising.
All those geezers in hospital beds and nursing homes who can't get to caucus sites aren't going to be heard.

21. Look at his margins, though. |
|
MO was essentially a tie. NM isn't decided, either.
She blew him out of the water in the "Big" states.
And the states he won, many of them, will go to McCain in the General. That's just fact.

9. It's the organization. Obama people put lots of money into the |
|
state because it's a caucus state, and thus his strength. My daughter who is 19, had two people coming to our door with leaflets re where she can caucus for Obama (she is still undecided, actually) and two phone calls of the same nature. By now I have contributed to Hillary twice but just got one last-minute call yesterday about her rally tonight. Having said that, I am pretty sure Seattle is pretty heavily pro-Obama, minus, perhaps, the Capitol Hill, where the gay community may have similar -- and legitimate --objections to Obama as the gay communities in SF, LA, and NYC did.

the quintessential Starbucks Dems, and thus Obama base :-)

have locations big enough to accommodate everyone.

19. We have a caucus AND a primary(lawsuit). |
|
The caucus votes are the ones that count.
Obama will win comfortably.
At last check, Paul led Repugs. :wtf:
