Time for Hillary to drop out for the good of the country.
If Mittens can own up to reality and take one for the team, shouldn't Hillary be big enough to do the same? I'm just sayin'.

14. The last thing we need is a long, dragged-out primary fight.
It gives McCain a huge advantage. I think that in the interest of not having two moderate Republicans running in the GE, Hillary should do the honorable thing and throw in the towel.

11. Hillary's ego and lust for power weren't allow her to do such a thing
She is willing to destroy the party, just so long as she gets the nomination. The sad thing is, if she gets the nomination, especially through the undemocratic route of super delegates, she doesn't have a chance against McCain. Nothing will galvanize the right like a Hillary nomination, and they will swarm out to vote against her. Meanwhile many disgruntled Dems will go for McCain, and the anti-war left will either go Green or stay home.

At any rate, I'm at the point were a truly believe either one can beat the old man.

Here's my Karnac moment; Obama will be offered the VP slot and will accept it, you can take that to the bank. TPTB don't think he's ready for primetime quite yet.

Here in Ft Wayne I have just a bit more than a light covering of snow while about 10 miles south streets are flooded in the city and roads in Kosciusko and Whitley counties NW of me have turned into what Hoosiers call lakes.

I'm looking forward to real snow when I move back to Wisconsin.

22. Just as many people want the Clintons
to stay in the race and see her as the clear winner. many people see Clinton as a hero of the Democratic Party. If there's a case for Hillary to drop out, there's an equal case for Obama to drop out, but we're not seeing an endless amount of DU Post headlines saying "Obama should drop out for the good of the country."

Let the Primary play itself out through strength and facts and not needless pleads from both camps for the two candidates to drop out when there is not a reason to do so.

and will have lost contests in another 5 or so states.

However, I doubt the good of the country or the party are foremost concerns of hers.
She's going to cling on all the way until the bitter end.

CNN TOTAL DELEGATE ESTIMATE*s updated 2:05 p.m. EST, February 7, 2008

Yes, some of those are the "Super Delegates" that can flip anytime they want, but the Democrtic Party has yet to show which of the big two they want. Neither of the candidates should withdraw. Let the Decmocratic party members decide.

Mittens had 286 to McCain's 714, with Huckabee at 181. MIttens had spent 50 million of his own money and more of other peoples money to be only a distant second. The Republican Party did not want him.

63. Hrm... look at my icon and I don't even think so. Why would it be good for the country?
I don't get it.

Why do we assume that people passionately involved in the election process, closely supporting two clearly qualified candidates is somehow a bad thing?

I think its amazing how many previously dispassionate people Obama has managed to get fired up enough to participate in the process, and I think its great that Senator Clinton represents capable leadership and intelligence that long time democrats - and the rest of the freakin country - can admire. Even though I am one of those "twenty years of two family rule is enough" people (that's a really big issue for me), I think Hillary Clinton is a phenomenal woman, and I'm extremely excited to have a democratic woman and a democratic African American both inspiring so many people.

They outclass anyone the Republicans have by leaps and bounds.

Yes, I have a very strong preference - to the point that I will even be very sad if my candidate does not get the nomination. I COULD go into all the reasons I don't support Hillary, but I chose not to right now. Because I feel like we have lost so much perspective during the course of this primary. We need to start getting it back before the general.
