Hillary Invites Obama to Town Hall Meeting in Maine
From Talking Points Memo:

Hillary Invites Obama To Appear With Her At Maine Town Hall Meeting -- Will He Accept?
By Greg Sargent - February 7, 2008, 3:20PM

In an unusual move, Hillary is inviting Barack Obama to appear with her side by side at a town hall meeting in Maine this weekend, when both are scheduled to be campaigning in the state.

In a statement sent only to local reporters in Maine that someone forwarded our way, Hillary said: “With both of us in the state – I would like to invite him to join me for a joint town hall Saturday morning in Orono, ME, so that the people of Maine have a clear idea of the differences between us."

"It’s time for the people of this country and the caucus goers of Maine to pick a President," Hillary continues. "I hope Senator Obama will accept my invitation to help them do just that.”

Only those who don't care about substantive issues could possibly be put to sleep - so that must be....you.

Those of us with a REAL grasp of history are always thrilled to hear his speeches and debates.

In fact, Kerry is SO good, Carville and his thugs had to join Rove to let the RNC steal that election, too, for Bush.

And Bill Clinton spent his 3 week book tour defending Bush from 'criticisms of the left' in June-July 2004. Nice timing, eh?

.... him to do now that he is winning. Of course Hillary is asking Barack
to do this meeting because she thinks it would help her not because she
thinks it would help him.

And just because Barack has run a better campaign and now has the money
to run t.v. spots and she doesn't that is not his problem it is hers.

21. I think they need to agree upon a pre-arranged debate schedule
It should be not be on Hillary's terms or Obama's terms - this is where a mutual agreement comes into play.

More debates would be great, yet weekly debates to give her financially starved campaign free media attention is not a good idea.

Let them both decide - rather than having random and spontaneous call outs.

And I have no problems with Obama agreeing to it, as long as it does not set a precedent.

Overall, Obama is kicking her ass in the red states. Tell me, what red state does she win against McCain in November?? How many R's will cross over to her??? How will she do against McCain with the Independents??? Let's get real hear. The R's are hoping and praying that she will be nominated because it will energize and unite them bigtime. And the Town Hall meeting and debate challenges are desperate-sounding gimics. Kindly give me a break. They've already had 17 debates. (However, if she's nominated I'll support the Dems and Hillary against the R's, but I hope Obama wins. He's a stronger candidate in the general election, plain and simple.)

Senator Clinton:
1. What is in your tax return that would be so damaging to your campaign that you refuse to release them until you are nominated?

2. A request for the Clinton Library donars list has been made. When will this information be released? Do you think this information should be made pubic, or held secret?

3. Will you be willing to investigate the crimes of the Bush administration, both present and past, and bring all relevant charges and bring sentence according to the law?

4. If transparent government is something you promise, when will you open the papers on the BCCI investigation that your husband locked up from public view during his office?

46. Only if he gets to pick half the questioners.... not the plants that Hillary usually uses...
...The "hallmark" thing was a joke. Bunch of planted questions.

I say.... Sure... do the town hall.... but Hillary gets *NO* say in who's in the crowd.

55. I know people like Hillary - I usually don't bother returning the call either.
Suspect Obama feels the same way.

61. That would be something a true "uniter" would do
But we learned long ago Obama has a divide and conquer strategy with the left. "Unity" applies only to rethugs. I bet he would accept an invitation from McCain. :eyes:

71. What, give his money-squandering opponent free advertising?
How would that be "uniting"?

76. Hillary is broke?
So it is down to the big money candidates Obama and Romney?

77. Yep.
And Romney dropped out, in case you hadn't heard.

Also, Romney's campaign was also self-funded by his personal wealth, just like Hillary's.

Obama's campaign has been funded by small donors. So his campaign may be rich, but it's the contributions of average Americans that made it that way.

That's a BIG difference.

86. Money doesn't buy everything as Romney has proved
Hillary has enough money to get her message out just like McCain.

69. Go Hillary! That's The Way It Should Be!
Fuck stump speeches and rhetoric. I respect the hell out of her wanting to do that, cause that's EXACTLY the way the political process should go.

70. He's supposed to be here Saturday afternoon, isn't he?
Speaking in Bangor.

That would be entertaining, though I doubt it would happen on such short notice.

84. she think she can plan Obama's calendar from here on out?
what nonsense.
he is a much better campaigner than she, his time is better spent with his voters, not Clinton.

of course this will be turned into something unchivalrous or such nonsense.
good cripes she is getting more fucking aggravating each day.
