Remember that her friend Rupert Murdoch donated lots of moola to her Senate campaign.

4. They've debated nearly 20 times in the past year.
Edited on Thu Feb-07-08 05:06 PM by Drunken Irishman
If you're still confused as to what they're selling, you haven't been paying attention and that's your fault, not his.

What's the point of debating the same shit over and over again? Every debate is the same, nothing changes.

10. Really?
What's really changed over the past 7 days since last week's debate in LA?

Nothing.

In fact, I'd wager both Clinton and Obama have staked out pretty much the same positions over the past year, without much change at any debate.

We don't need a debate every week.

Allow the candidates to go out and campaign for the votes and talk to the people.

Is the operable word of those pushing for 20+ debates during a primary.

7. I thought Senator Clinton wanted three debates.
Why only one? I, for one, would like the chance to see them duke it out as much as possible.

15. Because Obama is smart.
He's in the driver's seat here. He has nothing to gain from 3 debates, Clinton does. Clinton needs the airtime, she needs the free press, Obama doesn't.

These two have been in 18 debates over the past year, there isn't a need for a debate a week, as Clinton originally proposed. If this campaign goes further than what is expected, then do another debate, but what's the point of throwing the same shit over and over at the same damn wall?

They've debated 18 times in the past year, he's had no problem doing that in the past. Now it's time to actually get out there and talk with the people, instead of focusing on debates that discuss the same shit over and over again.

Clinton wanted a debate a week, Obama said no. Clinton wanted 3 more debates, Obama said no. Who has the upper hand here? Definitely not Clinton.

14. Ohio is good
He really needs to get in front of Ohio voters. I hope he drags up all her foreign business associates and questions how sincere she is in dealing with outsourcing when so much of their income has come from India and the ME.

There is a reason Clinton wanted a debate a week.
Typically the losing candidate asks for more debates, not the other way around. If you're not in the driver's seat, you're demanding more debates, while the other candidate says "Not so fast," and I think this is telling.

31. Except that Hillary is winning
and Obama is far behind her in Ohio.

Obama's strategy, as the losing candidate, is to rely on his manufactured image and controlled media program. He wants to run a GOP style campaign in Ohio with warm fuzzy commercials that don't say much of anything. He wants to bring the cult campaign to Ohio in order to make up the distance between himself and Clinton.

As a losing candidate with a manufactured image and heavy, expensive PR campaign, he doesn't want to debate because he knows it's harder to manage that manufactured image in the debate format.

No its about Obama losing and how debates interfere with his media campaign to make up lost ground.

20. I hope someone in Ohio will ask Clinton if her ties to Jackson Stephens while @ Rose Law firm
lead her husband to go back on his campaign promise regarding the East Liverpool OH Toxic Waste Incinerator.

CLINTON GOT A C-FOR HIS 1ST YEAR IN OFFICE BECAUSE OF IT:

Washington, D.C. - The League of Conservation Voters (LCV), the self-described political arm of the environmental movement, has given President Clinton a middling grade of "C-plus" overall for "not working up to potential" during his first year in office.

In particular, the League criticized the Clinton Administration for failing to halt Waste Technologies Industries' controversial hazardous waste incinerator in East Liverpool, Ohio.
