Obama campaign should try and get a handle on the cult discussion.
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 03:08 AM by pirhana
This story has legs.

You don't believe me? Google 'cult obama'. There are 12 pages at this moment on this.

I'll admit it, at first I snickered about this, but now I'm getting a little nervous. It's all over the place.

Is the Obama campaign going to put this to rest or are we going to go through 2004 all over again?

1. This Obama cult thing is ridiculous
I think that this has been taken too far. What are the origins of these cult remarks?

19. That's different.
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 03:19 AM by busymom
I think there is a group think dynamic happening....BUT...that is different from CULT behavior. In regards to the obamanation I was referring to something that had just been said about the obamanation coming together."

I don't like the group think thing...but groupthink is not CULT in my book. I guess when I think of a cult I think of the hare Krishna's or someting...and THAT is what I think the MSM is trying to do.

I had no idea it was intended to be a positive statement. Considering all the name calling on this board at this time, do you understand how I could make that leap? :smoke:

Pure jealousy. Obama's immensely popular, Hilly's never has been and never will be. She's only making a fool of herself by putting this nonsense out.

6. The truly sad part about this is you think this is a good thing somehow...
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 03:01 AM by sfam
Slimey campaign tactics like this are just that - slimey.

Cool - so 15-20 stories propping up the "Obama supporters are cultists" all came out yesterday from a myriad of sources. We all know where they originated. This was not spontaneous combustion in the MSM - this slime was clearly planted.

So are you saying you support this tripe, or are you just thrilled that it was such a successful slime-ball attack? Which one?

Personally, its this sort of stuff that sickens me. I truly hope it also gets out and discussed that all these sources simultaneously started talking about this. This will discredit both the sources and the Clinton campaign for spewing it. Politics as usual - Welcome to Lee Atwater redux...

Rejoice Clinton supporters - your campaign is on the move!!! Just spare us the "People are starting to get to know Hillary" line if she closes the gap with this crap.

We are all in this together. Hardly anyone even mentions the daily outrages and crimes still being committed by the war-chimp and his thugs.:patriot:

The "cult" bullshit has no legs and never will. Obama is set to roll over all the tiny, desperate, and hopeless detractors that are trying to derail him with idiotic slurs, and fabricated bullshit. It's going to be really fun to watch! :smoke:

18. It's not a "discussion"
It's a plate of spaghetti repeatedly thrown at a wall to see what sticks.

Sure, if you do it enough, the wall doesn't look so hot anymore. But do you blame the wall for that?

26. "CULT" campaign is designed to CAGE Obama and to create the "closed booth" effect
for undecideds who will out of FEAR switch to Hillary in a booth decision.

This is a well established strategy. Bush used "terror" alerts, Hillary is using "cult" alert.

29. it has no play outside of places like this. What is happening now in
Washington state (just got off the phone with my brother there) is that there was considerable publicity for Hillary on her quick trip there and a huge amount of coverage because he is not only packing huge venues they are overflowing.

mistaken for speeches of great weight. It's like reading Hallmark cards for inspiration.

To those with, um, slightly more political acumen, his MANIPULATION and chanting is seen for what it is, not the dreamy oratory his neophyte supporters perceive.
