Clinton fundraisers state "Primary Funds Only"
A source passes on a Clinton fundraising e-mail, listing a number of upcoming events (after the jump), which indicates the tension the campaign still has between actual campaigning and offline fundraisers.

One note for a "Dessert Reception with Sen. Hillary Clinton at Whitehaven" on Feb. 25 is a bit striking.

"Contribution: Raise $4,600 per person – primary funds only."

1. That is deceiving.
It's 2,300 for this primary.

Can't use the other 2,300 except for G.E., so she's trying to screw people out of more money and that is why I will not give a red cent to Hillary. I'll be contributing $25 to Obama next week.

He just found himself one of the hundreds of thousands that has not contributed YET, and and now a new spigot is sprouting for him!

GObama!

2. I wonder how much of this haul is general election money.
What happens to the GE money if she doesn't get the nom? Does it get returned?

3. Hillary campaign is honest
she can accept $$$ for her primary campaign....

half of the original donations are in a reserve fund for her prez campaign

she can't touch that money...it's for prez campaign only

6. how do i know
if i don't know anything about donation limits, exactly what about "Contribution: Raise $4,600 per person – primary funds only" tells me that $2300 is for the primary fight, and $2300 for the GE.

Maybe I want to give her as much as possible during the primary, but nothing during the GE. Maybe I think she has a very hard time beating Obama, but will crush McCain?

Maybe I want to hold my GE money until I see how it's going, and in October she's leading McCain by 25 points and I don't think she needs my money.

Too late, money already gone.

if the candidate does not win the primary 1/2 of the donation is returned to the donor. All of the campaigns do this - even the republican ones - because that way they dont have to ask the same person twice for the $. I have a good friend that gave to McCain because he had to - has clients that asked him to - and he kept hoping he would not get the nom so he could get 1/2 back - unfortunately it looks like he lost it all now:)
