Here's what I wrote to MSNBC.
It's about time MSNBC gets called on their biased coverage of the Democratic primary. Shuster's remark is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the constant condescending remarks that have been made about all the Clintons. Last night Keith Olbermann continued to talk about the effect that Bill Clinton's comments in SC would have on the election. Old news from weeks ago being talked about yet again for no other reason than to hurt the Clintons. Your network has turned out to be more biased than FOX and ALL of your hosts are contributing to it. Turning the channel to CNN until you change your biased coverage of the Clintons.

Yes, I know Obama supporters it's OK with you that Chelsea gets "pimped out" but it's not with me. And I'm sure you'd understand if it was your daughter they were talking about. An Obama supporter's comments motivated me to write to MSNBC.

1. Of course Bill Clinton's comments would have an effect on the election...
It's silly to think they wouldn't cover it ~ along with his calculating explanation given this week.

13. really he has said nothing too wrong
the media likes to spin his words. He was RIGHT when he made the point about jesse jackass. OF COURSE obama is going to win SC, as it IS a predominately black electorate which makes up the dems there, and if they are polling they are going to vote for their own, it should be no surprise when their own wins. The fairy tale remark was not about Obama, it was about his stance on Iraq.

16. Bill Clinton is extremely calculating in what he says...
It's right for msnbc and others to shine a light on it.

19. every politician is calculating in what they say
and the media dittoheads like you act like the clintons are the only ones. Bill clinton says what he thinks, the media doesn't like it, and they say "calculating"

20. I'm not the one whining about news coverage...
It's fine with me if they shine a light on my candidate. People like you have to stoop to calling other posters names because you don't have a leg to stand on ~ anyone with half a brain who's ever watched Bill Clinton campaign knows how skillful he is with the bullshit.

11. Your assumption that Obama supporters think the Chelsea remark was okay...
...is way wrong. The guy has apologized and has been suspended ~ case closed. Why keep whining about it??

4. don't assume Obama supporters think it's ok. That's offensive.
I personally find both comments to be offensive--the media's one and now yours against Obama supporters. Frankly, Hillary's response gets Kudos from me--even though I am an Obama supporter.

This media had 8 years of two 'trashy' Bush twins who they didn't even have to look hard to find bad things to say about their behavior. And yet they rightly stayed silent. YET, when the Bush-twins from the Bush Evil Family took to the campaign trail, the media didn't say anything about their behavior other than how 'wonderful' they both were. They had classy Kerry (Heinz-Kerry) and Edwards kids who really were great examples of wonderful compassionate, smart adults, and yet they found little ways to pick them apart.

But Chelsea, though she is on the campaign trail speaking to PEOPLE not press, still isn't the bratty kid that Bush-twins are. So because they can't say something bad about her behavior, they resort to a derogatory slam against Hillary and Chelsea. (Did Bush pimp-out his twins in 04? )

Also, I am please that Hillary is not going to debate on MSGOP as of this point. Because take a look at what McCain did! His kid got smeared; His wife got smeared too, and both were done in an equally as vile way. Yet McCain allows Bush to kiss him and hug him. Frankly, if it were my wife and kid, I'd punch Bush-Rove and all of them in the nose for what they said about my wife and kid. And no way would I campaign or even stand 20 feet anywhere near those people. Instead McCain embraced the people who said something incredibly vile about his wife and children.

SO for this, I greatly admire Hillary for protecting her daughter! And for that reason, she is better than McCain! And I am an Obama supporter.

7. IMO you are the exception and I
appreciate your thoughtful response. It has been my personal experience on this board that many O supporters think it is OK to be "pimped" as the 1st 2 responders noted. Therefore my irritated response to O supporters in general. Again, you are the exception.

18. Well, in my opinion DU is more helpfult to the Repubs right now than Free-Republic!!!
I find 98% of the posts in GD-Primaries deletable--especially when considered that the alleged purpose of this site was "to get Democrats elected."

From 98% of what's in this site, a person coming in would find a billion reasons not to vote for any Dem in the November election.

5. You should keep your complaint centered on Shuster
When you branch out in the conspiracy of partisanship, you'll lose their attention.

9. That's not what I'm arguing.
You should tackle it in two parts, if you want them to take it seriously. Focus 1. on Shuster (admittedly, I don't want him fired, but I fully agree with him being suspended). Then 2) focus on the global issue of partisanship you have with them. I think it's important for the argument to be broken up. Otherwise, you just get lumped as one of those people that think everything is a conspiracy.

Not buying products who advertise on MSNBC.

10. I'm with you all the way with this, yada.
Honestly, Shuster's remark was no worse than any given day on Morning Joe or any episode of vintage Tweety. Still, it's a point of reference and worth the trouble of fighting it. There has never been an election cycle like this one. All I ever want from the news is reporting of events, with some analysis on the side. This time entire networks feel free to stump for certain candidates. The pretense of objective news reporting is now officially dead, maybe forever. I know it's been a process, not an event, but it's culminated in this election.

12. Nice letter--there was a time when DU stood up to the propaganda machine.
Bias and editorial comment are not "news" They have been attacking Clinton in the stories they air non-stop and the stories they refuse to air (like the constant distortion of Clinton's record by Obama).

Every statement Clinton makes is dissected and twisted and distorted given the worst possible meaning.

Obama, conversely, is allowed to change his positions, lie about his ties to Rezko with no questions. Bill Clinton was right--the media gives Obama a free pass while vilifying Clinton.

17. Bill's comments were not old news, Bill revived the discussion
He was interviewed yesterday by a reporter in Maine. Bill was the one that talked about it and finally admitted some mistakes he made. CNN talked about this too.

I didn't see a problem with the coverage ~ and I'm sure Bill Clinton wanted it to be aired.
